Received a text from this number claiming to be Wells Fargo with an "Account Issue". It is not Wells Fargo. It is more than likely either a phishing attempt to get account information or less likely a debt collection company.

Received a text from this number claiming to be Wells Fargo with an "Account Issue". I don't have an account with them so that was  a red flag for me. It's funny how technology can be useful.

    Also me
I too received a text message from "Wells Fargo" about an "account issue". But when I called the number a recorded voice said it was Bank of America. I have no accounts or cards with BofA, a dead giveaway it's a scam of some kind. Don't give out any information to them.

I received the same text from the alleged  Wells Fargo office asking me to call their number.  I did. They asked me to give my social security number.  I knew this was a fraudulent act because I do not have an account with Wells Fargo.  I contacted the FBI and they told me to contact the Wells Fargo FRAUD DEPARTMENT immediately.  I called Wells Fargo and got some kid who answered in their Fraud Department.  I tried to give him the informationon for the FRAUDULENT TEXT and the phone number they said to call.  The kid said he took down the information but when I asked him to repeat the text number he COULD NOT!!  He was just giving me lip service!!! Wells Fargo could care less about this!!!  People BEWARE of this scam!!  Do not give ANY information to a BANK claiming they want you to verify ANY information by giving your social security number!!

I got a meesage either.  Well, I was not sure if I have an account with them, or I don't - maybe, as store cards could operate through other large banks.  But as soon as I've heared a request for a FUUL SSN - that's NO WAY!  I've entered 123456789 just to see, what happens.. welll it just kept sayng the same.  Brrrr....  like I touched a poo..

I received a text-message saying "(Please Contact NetSpend Help Desk @ (323) 503-1281) Your attention is requested. Accnt. Issue." And though the number they told me to call re. this "Account Issue" was the one listed above, that is NOT the number the call came from. That number was 310-508- 55... and I have not able to see the last two digits for some reason. But when I called the 323 number I heard a recording saying that my debit card has been  "Welcome to NetSpend. A text-message was sent to inform you that your debit-card has been limited due to a security error. To reactivate please press 1." And when I pushed "1" I got a second recording asking me to enter my entire debit-card number, at which point I promptly HUNG UP! Obviously this is a scam, but, unfortunately, I can see some people actually falling for this, particularly the confused and/or elderly.
