called my cell phone 6 times this morning, while I was at work, only left 1 message out of the first 5 missed calls.  and called again 3 hours later the 6th time, leaving another message.. said he was from legal, asked for my husband by name.. and said he kept getting voice mail and we must be avoiding him, has no choice but to start legal action through my husband's job.. home town..and advised us to get an attorney. etc.. never said what company he was calling from.. never said what company he was dealing with.. nothing.. called him back immediately after the 6th call as I was on lunch.. gave him my husband's number.. he never called my husband.. lol  think it may be a scam.. as have never had a call from anyone in Los Angeles, CA and my husband has no bills, debts or anything and has never been to CA.  

forgot to say, I got his voicemail.. when I called back.. did not get to talk to a real person at all.

Got a call from this number in Los Angeles.  (We are on the east coast.)  Woman told me that the US Treasury (in Los Angeles?) was bringing action against my husband.  She said she was a paralegal and she wanted us to take the name and number of the officer bringing charges against us and to call him.  My husband wouldn't take the name and number.  She got very agitated and threatened that the police would be showing up in "48 minutes" to arrest my husband.  We've had people calling with scams before, but this one was off the charts.  Charges should be brought against this woman.

Am tired of receiving this call from someone in California, indicating he is from the Department of Treasurey.  When I mentioned to him that I worked for the Department of Treasurey, here in Washington, DC, he changed his tune and said he made a mistake and it was the Department of the Army.  When he said that, I said really, who, as I retired from the Pentagon, Washington, DC.
There are so many people out there taking advantage of many.

Same exact message... bad thing is I did get audited for a couple of years ago but it is being handled... immediately went on the defensive... however...... his name was Daniel Rich and while speaking with me said the same things...... lien on my property, arrest, freeze on my bank accounts. He was very nasty when I questioned him about issues pertaining to my IRS issues of course he couldn't answer any of them when I asked for a supervisor he stated he was an's there was no one over him I then proceeded to ask for Obama!!! I have just learned thanks to your post that these people are scammers and anyone who gets these types of threatening calls be aware they are not from anyone important!!!!

Just got the call myself.... Funny - did a reverse search on the number and a facebook page popped up - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Entrepreneur-Minute/395189733960872?sk=info  - It appears they are out of Colorado ??   They're so cute.

Just received the same call from that guy. He kept on asking me if I had any cash on me and wanted me to go to the local
Supermarket and send him the money. He claims that there was an error on our 2009 tax return. He is definitely a scammer. That's not how the IRS handles tax issues. You would receive notices in the mail.
This guy needs to get a job and stop living off hard working folks. Lazy son of a b...

I had just got a call from this number.  I called back to here him tell me I have legal problems with my taxes.  I said that's something,   I bearly have any taxes to file I am on Disability.  I believe he hung up I didn't here any thing else.

You can safely ignore this scam. It is most likely an extortion attempt.  The claim they are from the US Treasury Department makes this sound like another of the pervasive IRS Tax scams. You can read about this type of scam here which also contains information on reporting it. They have continued to issue alerts since this Oct 2013 release.

These calls are not coming from the IRS or anywhere else in the US government.

I received a call from 323-521-5032 the caller claimed to work for the US Treasury and told me he had tried numerous times to contact me and that if i did not call him in one hour I would have an arrest warrant. I called up my Attorney and he immediately did a reverse search and told me not to worry that this was one of those scam phone numbers.

This phone number called repeatly back to back about a legal matter being brought against. I don't live in California and this guy had a middle eastern accent you could barely understand.

Just received the same phone call 2 times this morning.  They claimed they were going to have me  arrested.  Every time I asked questions, he threatened me that he was a federal officer that would just have the officers arrest me in 30 minutes.  SCAM!

these middle east scammers can drive you crazy...all the complaints are just like mine except I was told to call #323-521-5032 for further assistance, the # 132-521-1532 is what shows up on my caller id,this number was not found on call hunter ,or the reverse look up line , and of course both numbers were busy each time I called to check out ,must be pretty busy people even at 3 am in the morning lol .......L.PERLSI  I would have to agree with your attorney as well .......SCAM

Received voice mail from 323-521-2032. When I returned the call, a male with a heavy accent (middle-eastern or Russian/Slavic) identified himself as Daniel Rich, Dept. Of LegalAffairs, US Treasury. He advised there is a warrant for my husband's arrest, our assets will be frozen, drivers' license suspended. I asked for more details and he said said it was a question about our taxes and he needed our attorney's name and address. I asked if the phone number from which he was calling me was listed as belonging to the US Treasury, and warned him I was online checking phone directory listings. He said the number was listed for US treasury (it is not). He said, "you've received a CP503 notice from the IRS". I advised him we had not and asked which tax year was in question. He responded "2010". I said, "no, it is not" and he disconnected the call. I spoke with the local police who advised that they would write up a report if I wanted, but there is nothing they can do about this.  The responding officer also advised me he has talked to 4 local residents who received this call. One, an 80+ year old woman, actually felt intimidated enough that she sent these scammers money.

I received a voice mail from this number, in Los Angeles. When I called back, I spoke with a gentleman with a heavy East Asian(Indian) ascent. He tried to tell me that he was calling from the Treasury Dept and the I.R.S. had placed a warrant out for my arrest. I played along trying ot get some information. He knew nothing about me. He said that I owed an undetermined amount of back taxes, but couldn't say for what year. Then I asked where he would be sending the police to arrest me, he put me on hold. Then he came back pretending to be someone else. However, he broke character and went back to his accent, when I questioned him further. The clincher was when I informed him that he called the home of a Veteran and ex Federal agent, he quickly hung up.

This idiot called and left a message about a "Federal Grand Jury" for a criminal offense.  Then he says "I adwise you to help us help you."  As if I was stupid enough to think that calling him back was somehow going to help me.  Dude - get a real job and stop SCAMMING PEOPLE!

We got the same message!  And the not so funny thing is that my husband is a senior civilian with the gov't. So he knew to blow this off right away.  The nerve of some people never ceases to amaze me.
