I just received a call from these people identifying themselves as "John Hudson" and "William Black."  They told me I owed $300 and that I should go to CVS and buy a "moneypak" card for that amount, and that I should call them back and give them the 14 digit number from the scratch off back of the card.  they told me they were issuing a warrant for my arrest if I didn't do this.  I went to the Police Dept and they called them back from my phone, asking for a "Williams Hudson" (notice they switched the names above) and the man said "Yes this is William Hudson."  Then the police officer had quite a conversation with them, ending with the scammers hanging up on the officer.  What a hoax!  The police officer told me they actually get people to send them money this way.  These people are from Nigeria apparently.

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.

Such a$$holes. Three calls back to back. No answer and their were three blank voicemails following. Annoying.

I got a call from them at my job several times, mind you I work for a police dept. I told my cheif and was told they can not call you at work nor do not give out any info. I went all the way left I this man. Some one call every day on my cell three or four times a day.

Threaten to blow up my house and ruin my credit. Called my job and home phone on a daily.

Just received 2 calls from these idiots that can barely speak English. Saying to call Jack Cooper at this # or they were going to send police to my house to arrest me.

received a call from Paul Smith, stating he was from FInCen, then called back, and stated he was William Black.  Guys could barely speak english, and were threatening me;  Had my name, address, Social...everything.  Obviously, a scam....

I got a call from them for my husbands name and my SSN. I told them that was my SSN and he didn't say anything. I told them I would give them my attorneys name and number and he said they would send an officer to my husbands job (he hasn't had a job in over a month). Then hung up on me. Then when they called again, I told him that if they continued to call that I would bring harrassment charges against them then hung up. Idiots!!!

I got a call from this idiot said hello 3 times they said nothing. Then I check my voicemail and notice a message from this man that you could tell he hardly spoke any English. He said this was a very important matter and asked that we return the phone call but he did not give a name. I haven't bothered to return the phone call just looked up the number because I don't know anyone in area code 323.

Stating they will be calling my Supervisor or show up at my place of employment and they want to save em the embarassment. Told me to call back immediately, said it was extremely urgent - have been John Wilson, Matt Watson, Dave Wilson - extremely heavy accent - I have not calle dback and would really like them to stop calling me immediately!!!!! They said they were calling from a law firm, then they said a Police Department.
