I received a phone message today from this phone # and message states a David Johnson from the Department of Legal Affairs.  Message states there is an enforcement issue against my name and recommends that I have my attorney return the call.

Don't bother...it is a scammer calling!

I just read the press release of Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration dated January 21, 2015 and it says, "The IRS usually first contacts people by mail - not by phone - about unpaid taxes. And the IRS won't ask for payment using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The IRS also won't ask for a credit card number over the phone."

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

when I called the number a Kit Nelson answered the phone and when I said I was returning a call what was this [***] about he hung up on me

Caller said his name is David Miller. Same message as from Tracie (posted 2 days ago). He is from Department of Legal Affairs (does not say which jurisdiction, company, etc) and that enforcement action is being taken??? Just ignored it.

On June 1st, 2015 about 15:40 pm.  A person name Jeff Thomas claim he is from United States Treasury Department that he said my 2 years old daughter has some legal issue and wants she call back.
Ha Ha Ha.

I called back to a Shawn Williams who became  very angry when I asked for his location. He told me he does not care and I should get lost.

I just received a call from a Jeff Thomas, ID # 06390, stating he was from the Department of Treasury and there was an action against me (using my maiden name).  He called my parents house, which I have not lived in for over 8 years.   He asked that I return the call to 323-570-4743.   After Googling the phone number, I saw other posts that it was a scam.  The Department of Treasury "general info" phone number begins with a DC area code, 202.

Just received the same message as Tracie about an enforcement issue, so I googled the number and found this site. He had a heavy foreign accent.

Received a message from an Indian sounding gentleman, who said his name was Jeff something or other (could not understand with accent) from the dept. Of legal affairs. He said needed to call about legal action against me. Said to have attorney call him. Googled #, saw its just another scammer... Go figure.

left a message stating that he was filing paper work against me and that I better find a recommended criminal attorney. He did not leave any other information.

I've been calling him back every 5 minutes to irritate him.

Man named Kevin Green called looking for my mother with a thick accent. I usually handle the "scam calls" in the house... And when I asked what the call was regarding, he snapped back and refused to tell me anything and that my mom had 48 hours to call back. So he interrupted me and said, goodbye. And I looked up the number here, and called back with a very strong worded voicemail to the answering machine of " Kit Johnson" and told him where to stick it. And to never call again.
