This is a total SCAM....tell everyone you know that they should NEVER have to pay for something that is FREE.  Send $199.00 via Western Union and whaaa-la, you get $7,000 in free grant money! Hard to believe - YES - because it is a SCAM to rip the hard working American off. Tell them to F_ _ _ Off!

I got a call first from a guy named Mr. Jack informing me that I was selected for a $5000.00 grant from the government, because I haven't filed a bankruptsy in the past 12 months,paid my taxes on time. This money did not have to be repaid and had to be used on home improvements etc.  He gave me a conformation number and to call this number 3236175965 and talk to a John Spencer and give him my conformation number and mention Mr Jacks name.  I called the number twice and no answer.  About an hour later I assume it was John Spencer as the number calling was 3236175965.  He asked for my zip code, I said to him that I didn't think you guys in the US government worked on Saturdays,  and said give him a minute. I waited for a while, he never came back on so I just hung up.  I only assume this was just a scam of some sort.

Man did I have fun with this one. I called John Spencer (East Indian accent) and he gave me the name of the Western Union in Fresno where I could pick up my "$7000" dollar grant. I just needed to do a security deposit of $199.90. I told him that I was broke and could I take my $7000 dollars and sent the $199.90 out of that. I told him that I'm a nice guy, everyone likes me and I have lots of I.D. Of course he said "no". I kept him on the line for a long time just stringing him along. It's all a scam to bilk someone out of $199+ dollars. How anyone could fall for this is beyond me. I had fun stringing these morons along.

I just received the same call. While on the phone with the man with the heavy accent I looked this site up, I responded to him with seriously uncle Sam want to give me money HA HA HA give it back to government we need it for a recession.  Seriously whom is so stupid.

Guys, does anyone knows how to report those people and to stop the? May be even send them back to their countries for scam?

It's a total scam they want you to send the security deposit to Delhi, India. Don't fall for it!

Isn't there a way for our government to track the # and prosecute? they are "impersonating the government" isn't that illegal in itself?

I got a call today for my husband. The poorly english speaking woman named Helen Ross, gave me the same line of crap! I was to have my hubby call John Spencer at 323-617-5965 and give him Helen's name and an approval number. They had our address wrong. We haven't lived at the address she stated for 4 1/2 years! Then she wanted to know how old hubby was. LMAO I said if you worked for the government, you'd know EXACTLY how old he is!!! AND you would have the CORRECT address! I also told her that I was going to google the number she gave me and if anything was fraudulent, she would be reported. So here I am finding that this is yet ANOTHER scam!!!

Gee and to think I was getting $5,000 from the government?!?!  What a rip!!!

What turnip truck did these morons think we all fell off of?
Do they not know there is no such thing as a free lunch? But I don't just want to vent, I want to know who to report this to. There are people stupid enough and desperate enough to buy into this, this needs the plug pulled immediately!!!!!

Don't expect the calls to stop immediately.  The FTC is busy on other issues.  The police spend most of their time on violent criminals.  Annoying phone calls are not at the top of anybody's list.  And many of the scammers are located overseas, out of reach of US law enforcement.

LOL>.. i just got the same call. except this time they are asking for almost 400 dollar deposit!! HOW is that for JACKING UP THE PRICE!!! Beware!!! this is funny. I wonder why Tiffany didn't sound like a Tiffany and why John Spencer sounded like he was middle eastern????

Ok, I received a call from this one too. Asked me to send him 234$ via western union and will send me 5000$ as grant!!!!

Just got one also tried to call and 'John Smith' was on another line he would call back.

IT"S A SCAM !!!!   I just got the same phone call from a lady with a strong oriental accent, I asked her a lot of questions and told her I did not believe the government is giving away money ($5000) she even gave me their "supposedly" office address: 11099 South La Cienega Blv, Los Angeles CA 90045 which is the around the LA airport. She had my address wrong and obviously I didn't give her the correct address.

Then I called the "John Spencer # 323-617-5965 I told the guy what they are doing is illegal so he immediately hangs up on me. DO NOT fall for this!!!

man I had a great time with this guy... good old Mr. Spencer just up and admitted that if he could just hook a couple of people a day... he'd make a decent living. Poor fella.

I just got a call from a lady who explained that I had a Goverment grant of $5000.00 waiting for me to collect but I needed to call Mr. Spencer and mention her (the caller's) name, which sounded like Ami -she had a middle eastern accent so I can't be sure.
I saw something on TV which said they charge like $2,000.00 a minute for the phone call. Yes; I DID wrtite two thousand, not a typo. Apparently, there's no limit to what a phone company middle-man can charge for calls. So watch out because this is charged to your phone bill and it's hard to get out of paying it because you actually made the call!

The calling number showed as 238002 space 238-002.

this [***] clown tried to get me to send 234.00 to INDIA so i can get 5000.00 grant by the U.S.GOV im now calling him every 15min just to mess with him

I just got a call fro Kathlyn who told me to call the same number. During the call I told her that I would be reporting the call to the police and that I was looking at a site warning me that this is a scam. she still played along and let me know that it was fine for me to call the police! these people really have nerves!

I recived a call from this number also john spencer said I could ger 5000 if I sent 236.00 western union. I told him off and used a lot of words that was not lady like. He hung up on me so I called. Him back and then when he saw my number on caller id he nolonger answered so I used another one of the five phones in my house,and kept on using profanety. He will not be. Callin me again.
