person claiming to be from u.s department of treasurey,harassing phone calls

Person left message on my cell phone today Saturday at 4:56pm EST claiming to be with the US Department of Treasury. Stating I or my attorney needed to call him or there would be a legal mess. Said his name was Robert James.

I got a call today from this same number stating they were from the Department of Treasury and there was a lawsuit against me.  I have heard this is not a true call.  I told him it was a "[***]" call.  He asked me if I had received form something or other in the mail about a lawsuit against me.  I said no.  He put me on hold and said he would get me registered!  lol  I hung up.  

I called the number back and it said Department of Legal Affairs.  I told the person that they have been reported and he hung up!  lol

I got a call from the number on my work line and was a recording that said this was a second notice and to contact them immediately or else legal actions will occur.  When I called the number I got an answering machine saying US Treasury and he was Anthony Cooper. Just called again and Alex answered. wanted my name which I did not give. once I said I believe this is a false case he said thank you and hung up.

Next time tell him to engage in self intercourse! Lol!

These people left a message on my home phone stating that I owed IRS funds and that legal action was being brought against me. Anthony Cooper Badge 113140 so he claimed. I politely told him he would be investigated.

They called saying they were following up on papers that were sent by the US Treasury Department. I asked what this was about. Asked if it was to do with taxes and they started making something up about tax evasion in 2009... a year when I most definitely filed and paid taxes.

14 August 2014 approximately 6:20 pm    I did not hear my phone ring, but i had a  voice mail message. The male voice said that I needed to cooperate with him to clear up a legal matter and that he was from the US department of the treasury. I called back but no one answered. The message in-box was too full for me to leave a message.

Rec'd same call as others regarding US Treasury but was rec'd on house phone.  I deleted.  Did not call back.  Indian accent and made threats over phone about court case.

Same as above... Tax Evasion from 2010, owed $2500, who was my lawyer & did he have power of attorney.... blah blah blah. I called one out , then they had the nerve to continue to call me asking me what i was wearing and if i gave xxx for $$$, etc. I highly doubt the REAL IRS would have asked me something so personal. (haha). My mother's maiden name, maybe, but not that!!!
If you ever question if its the REAL IRS, they will notify you via mail. In addition, they do not call on a Saturday. Next if they do call, they will identify themselves immediately with a "I am Mrs. Brown, my IRS number is 12345". Any questions, asks for a number to call back to verify (they real IRS will understand). Then call the REAL IRS number in the phone directory. If the real IRS had called you, they will have documentation that they called.

Received a call from 323-686-3273.  Caller indicated that the IRS would file legal action against us for unpaid 2011 taxes.  Found this page alerting us to a possible scam.  Called back and a person named "Anthony Cooper" answered with an Indian accent.  When the legitimacy of the call was questioned and that the IRS would be notified, he simply said "ok" and hung up.

Received the same bogus call.  You could hear the call center in the background.  Definitely out of India.  First, the Dept of the Treasury does not engage with anyone on "back taxes" that is the IRS and the IRS ALWAYS sends a letter and then you contact them.  Second the guy asked if I had received a "CTPAT form", which is a customs form.  I told them I would be contacting my resources in Washington.  End of conversation.  I reported it to the Dept. of the Treasury on the website.

2nd type call. I contacted IRS fraud unit and was told that they were out of country and they have been investigating for 9 months.. Problem is that it scares some folks and they fall for it.

Scumbag left me a message with legal mumbo jumbo saying I had to contact him or have my attorney contact him at once or i'll be prosecuted for some crime, grand jury, magistrate...I laughed and deleted message and thought I'd post to warn others. No one will call u about a debt, they send via snail mail. If they call you they are collectors/scumbags trying to scam you.

Receiving harassing phone calls from 323-686-3273.  Want the calls to stop

Yes, I got the exact same call.  Anthony Cooper.  I told him that I googled his name and phone number and the internet said it was a scam.  He said he would send an investigator to my house.
