Scammer with [***] accent threatens you on the behalf of the IRS. Stated his name as Michael Brown, other complaints have said he uses the name David Chambers, alternatively.

I got a call from a woman, she was foreign, at my place of employement.  She told me to call officer David Chambers and that there was an arrest warrant out for me.  I called the number she gave me 323-739-1743.  The man who answered was foreign.  He told me I made an error on taxes that was on purpose for a house I owned 7 yrs ago.  I told him I don't understand because I always used the standard forms and deductions so how could there be an intentional error?  I couldn't understand him.  All I could understand is that there was someone coming to arrest me and I was going to lose my home, car, job and they were freezing my assets.  I am really shaken up.  He would not give a number for the local authorities for me to go to them and he would not give a number to the IRS to call and confirm who he was.  

I just got this call about 30 minutes ago

RECEIVED TWO DEAD AIR VOICEMAILS TO MY PHONE.  RETURNED CALL TO THE NUMBER THAT APPEARED ON CALLER ID AND A MAN WITH AN INDIAN ACCENT ANSWERED AND ASKED IF I WERE AMANDA.  DID NOT ASK ME TO VERIFY DOB, ADDRESS OR LAST FOUR OF SSN , WHICH INDICATED SOMETHING WAS AWRY,  REPRESENTED HIMSELF AS DAVID CHAMBERS FROM THE DEPT OF LEGAL AFFAIRS AND PROCEEDED TO READ AN AFFIDAVIT FOR IMMEDIATE ARREST FOR AN UNFILED TAX RETURN AND THAT IT WOULD BE MANDATORY FOR ME TO BE DETAINED FOR 72 HOURS.  I INTERRUPTED, AND HE INSTRUCTED ME TO 'SHUT MY MOUTH'.  I DID NOT AND WHEN I INFORMED HIM THAT I HAD VERY RECENTLY BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE IRS AND SET ARRANGEMENTS, HE PROMPTLY DISCONNECTED CALL.  I DIALED THE NUMBER AGAIN AND RECEIVED A "CALL CAN NOT BE COMPLETED" MESSAGE AND I TRIED AGAIN AND IT IS NOW DEAD AIR, DOES NOT RING AT ALL.  VERIFIED WITH THE IRS HAT IF THEY REACH OUT THEY WILL LEAVE CASE NUMBER AND NUMBER TO CALL ON VOICEMAIL.  AND THEY VERIFY IDENTITY AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY CALL

Just recived a call from a man with a foreign accent. Left me a voicemail stating I needed to call him back or have my attorney call him back. If he didnot hear from me then all he could say was good luck. Said he was from the treasury. When I called back I demanded to talk to someone who speaks correct English not broken English and he asked if I knew who I was talking to everytime time I tried to talk he would cut me off. First My mom called on behalf of me and he hung up on her. Then when I called he said therewas no file against me and that I was wasting his time. My mom called him because I was irate he said stopp calling and harrassing him over and over when hes called in the first place.

I received the call twice in 15 minutes at 2 different numbers.  One was my work number and the other my cell phone..
My office phone was answered by a member of my department since I was at a remote office.  They left message with him to call the number and ask for Don Chainbers.  He sent me a text with the information and I tried calling it.  Rang one and then went busy.  Tried 3 times with same results.  As soon as I hung up after the 3rd try they tried calling my cell phone.  I was on another call at the time and could not answer.  They left a voice-mail from a woman that I could not understand her name or what she wanted except that I had to return her call or be arrested. (accent to heavy)

I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM INDIAN SOUNDING PERSON TELLING ME I AM IN TROUBLE WITH THE IRS AND ALL MY BANK ACCOUNTS WILL BE FROZEN, IT SCARED ME UNTIL I PLUGED THAT PHONE NUMBER IN GOOGLE AND SAW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE GETTING THIS BOGUS CALL

Call from someone identifying as "David Chambers" who said I should "wait for the authorities to come to my house" if I didn't want to talk to him. Strong Hispanic accent. I refused to confirm my name, but he seemed to find it by looking at my number. Would not say who he was or what he wanted. Never gave any of the disclosure you would expect from a debt collector.

I have already blocked a different number from the same people as described in previous comments. They called, on the reported number, with the same song and dance as the others twice today (the first call was at 1:30pm and second call was 2:20pm CDT). The first caller did not leave a name, and the second caller gave his name as "Justin James," but still said the same thing, they are with the Dept. of Legal Affairs. Husband answered with a comment of, "(explicative deleted) You," on the second call and hung up. This number will also be blocked and reported, not that anything will be done. The people calling all seem to have a heavy Palestinian/Indian dialect, and read similar verbiage. From the background noise, this is obviously a call center. I have looked up the location, using a reverse phone look-up tool available on line, and the call originated from Los Angeles Da 03, CA; carrier 360networks (USA) Inc - CA.
