Message on answering machine in heavy Indian accent stated:

This is Ryan Johnson with the department of legal affairs....this message is intended for_________ in regards for a very important legal issue...this is notification of you in regards  to the enforcement action started against your name...

Went on and on about needing an attorney to save yourself alot of trouble, etc, etc......

Called number....they say they are "officers with the Treasury Department" regarding tax issues from 2001....that they will arrive soon to arrest us.....

They need to be in jail!

I just received the same call.. the call back number is the same number that called me ??? says that I am to call the US TREASURY OFFICE at the 323 744 6485 number... HA !!!!   . I would think the government would be able to arrest people posing as the US TREASURY office and The TREASURER of the US.???
I am not calling them back... HAHA.. like I would believe them.

Just received the same message. Very thick Indian accent by the name Ryan Johnson which is a very American name. Another reason why I need to get rid of my land line!

Same message but said Larry Rogers....seriously! Very strong Indian accent as well ....told me to hang up and call this number for the treasury department...

Got the same phone call. I immediately hung up. He called back and threated me. I called vt attorney general office gave the #.

Received call from 323 744 6485, said was from U.S. Treasury Dept. and they were seeking legal action.

From 323-744-6485  Dept. of Legal Affairs.  I should call back.  Could be in legal trouble.  Very strong accent though I couldn't say what culture.  Left on answering machine.

I received a call from Jack Wilson, Marc Johnson for me to contact my attorney of a legal matter against me. And to call Jack Wilson Because they told me that I was going to be served by the U.S. Treasury. I then said really, I will contact the U.S Treasury myself. And you will not get any information from me. By the way Marc Johnson has a very strong accent, he also said call this number 323-744-6485. This so bogus, and wrong in so many ways, very upsetting. People be very careful of this SCAM!

Got the same call today. Very heavy Indian accent.... call back # 323-744-6485.  Said he was David Miller from the Dept of Legal Affairs.  I called back and got "Jack" who claimed to be the Director of the Dept of Legal Affairs Office.  I asked where he was located and he said LA.  I asked for an address and he gave me 300 N. Las Angeles Ave.  He must of quickly sensed I was on to his SCAM because he hung up on me as I was asking more questions.  Now when I call back they pick up the phone but quickly hang up!    I really wish I knew of a way to stop these clowns before they prey on soem unsuspecting senior citizen.

Same story. Jeff Thomas from Legal Affairs with a very important matter. Called back and asked for Jeff Thomas and it was the guy who called me. As soon as I asked for him, he hung up. Someone needs to stop these clowns.

Same message they called once for me and once for my wife.  Same Indian accent

I got a phone call on my home phone number (a land line) from someone with a heavy Indian accent who said his name was “Jack Daniel” from the U.S. Treasury, Dept of Legal Affairs, saying that I should have received a certified letter about some legal enforcement action against me and telling me to contact “Jack Wilson” at 323-744-6485 or I would be arrested. I did call the number and spoke with another person with a heavy Indian accent who called himself “Danny Morrison”. He wanted contact information for “my lawyer” and additional information about me. When I wouldn’t provide that he said someone was coming to arrest me in 45 minutes, then hung up on me.

I called the LAPD Wilshire Division and was told they have received hundreds of phone calls about this, and to call 911 if anyone actually comes over to my house to try to arrest me.

"Mark Johnson" called my parents house with the same schpiel. I'm guessing Mark Johnson is not his real name. Get a lawyer, yada yada yada! Call them back at 323 744-6485. The Treasury has no problems with me.  They tend to use USPS and would send registered or one would be subpoenaed. Boy will they be disappointed if some rent-a-cop shows up at the house that they called.  I haven't lived with my parents for 13 years.  Another hint, the call back number is the same as the calling number.  A large phone system would give them a random outgoing line, which would rarely match up with the call back number.
I think they need to have someone find their door.  I'm sure one could resolve all of this by sending them a large some of American unmarked bills!

I like the American names they pick!  The Jack Daniels I know comes from Kentucky in a bottle!

I have been receiving these calls for the last week.  They have called for me and separately called for my husband.  Calls have gone to VM but the messages left are identical.  You know it's a scam when they say they are with the government yet end the call with "Have a bless day."  It's not even grammatically correct - it's blessed.  At least try and get the phrase correct!
