Repeated messages left this number claiming to be the IRS.....

Claiming to be a call from the IRS that they are filing a lawsuit against me.  A final call-No letter, no nothing. Nothing like the IRS calling from California

Ditto.  Female automated voice left disturbing message - claimed to be with the IRS.
Said this is their final attempt to contact us. Didn't say who the message was intended for.
There was no previous contact attempt made through any means (ie. Phone, mail, email).
Said they were filing a lawsuit against us.  Caller ID - Changchien Yueh  626 445 9137

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

The claim of being from "internal revenue serviceS" there is no such agency.  The IRS is internal revenue service and they will not call you they will notify you by mail if there is a legitamite problem.   furthermore, the agency does not file lawsuits - if there is a claim, they will fine you and send you a bill.

I too received this call and googled the number.

Got a call from this number (626-574-9227) yesterday. The location of the call picked up on my phone was Arcadia, CA. I did not answer, they left a robocall (female automated) message saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, and to call 323-786-0730. Obviously, considering all the other messages I've seen in other sites about this number, this gang is running a scam call center from India, or somewhere like that.

I received a recorded message from this # telling me they were the IRS and they are suing me.  

Received a call Saturday morning at 11:09 am on 11-22-14 stating IRS is filing a lawsuit against me ... was a female robocall.  Said this is last chance to call 323-786-0730. Call came from 559-386-9701.  When I called the number, there was no answer.

Got the call from "IRS" on Nov 14 2014 abt lawsuit. Pure scam... but disturbing.

Received this call today.  Not USPS NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO CALL. Only way IRS (service not services) contacts you.  Ergo, this is a scam.  11/24/14

Just got the same robo-call asking me to contact 323-786-0730. Sounds like [***]...the IRS always sends communications like this in writing. I've owed back taxes before and they make arrangements for a settlement first, not threatening phone calls.
