They called my cell phone once, and my husband's cell twice. I let it go to voicemail, and a recorded voice offered us a free security system if we would let them put a sign in our front yard. The stipulation was that we had to own the home. They then called my home phone, which I answered. It was a recorded message: to take advantage of the offer, press 1; to get on the do-not-call list, press 2. I pressed 1, and the person on the other end answered, in a very surprised, foreign-accented voice. She started into her speech, but I interrupted her and asked the name of her company, which she said was Home Secure Solutions. She was very polite and apologetic when I asked to be placed on their do-not-call list, and assured me that we would not be bothered again. I did a web search on the company name and read that they have previously been calling from a Florida area code. The 325 area code is in Texas,  so this must be their new scam!

They also call my cell phone today. My number is registered on the Do Not Call list and has been. I let it go to voice mail. No message. Thanks "Teddy" for your info & to apple for the new blocking feature with osi 7.0. They won't call me again -at least not from that number.

They called my cell number which I do not give out.  I should have  looked at the number but I was expecting a call about that time and I answered.  Probably a mistake.  I heard a recorded message about "security" and hung up immediately.  I tried to call the number back but it was an invalid number.  Definitely a scam.

They Called My Cell As Well . I Was In School & Let It Go To Voicemail . When I Got Home I Tried To Return The Call & It Was An Invalid Number . Ridiculous . I Get Phone Calls Like This 24/7 ! Definitely A Scam .

This number called my husbands cell. Did not leave a message. We are on the National Do NOt call list which seems to actually be the National CALL ME repeatedly list.. :)

Call from Abilene Tx which is about 70 miles from me. Did not answer but tried to call back also. Invalid number like the rest. Wife and daughter also were called. I almost answered it since I know many people from Abilene. Glad I didn't now.

Caller left no message - now blocked with CallClerk software and a cheap USB modem.

They have tried my cell, my wife's cell, even my kids and home phone - like to put a security dent on them if it was possible

They just called my Mother, an shortly after called me. Of course we tried calling back an got the samething everyone else got... They have called my Mother over 15 times!! They just wont stop!

Called me. I called back got  this number is not a working number. What gives??

They just called my cell phone. When I answered, there was a recording about giving me a $1500 home security system. When the recording told me to press 2 to get my number off their list, I did just that. I got a recording that I'd be taken off in the next 48 hours, then the call ended (I'm not confident that it will actually take me off the list).

The same number called me again, probably less than a minute after the first call ended.

Well - they called again and my CallClerk software did its job - logged the call and blocked it.  :=))
I am on the Do Not Call registry, but I cannot trust the Gov't to do their job and/or fulfill their promises, so I took my protection on myself and am pleased that MY protection works.

Anybody who is complaining that the "DO NOT CALL" list isn't working is a boob.

These are not telemarketers. These are crooks operating through something called VOIP (phone calls through the internet and numbers are fake) and as thieves, crooks and scoundrels, they don't have to comply with "do not call" regulations.

What they try to do is offer something "free" (typically a warranty, a cruise on a ship... you name it) and all you need to do is either pay a modest fee to have the "cruise ship tickets" sent to you, or some other reason, and if anyone is so gullible to take the bait, they pay by credit card. Soon after the boob provides a credit card number (to include the expiration date and security code on the back of the card) the boob is robbed of his/her identity and their credit card will soon be used in weird places the boob has never been to.

I never, EVER answer a call that is not in my personal phone directory because there are so many scoundrels using this trick to get credit card numbers. If the call is legit, the caller will leave a voice mail and you can verify if indeed you have reason to believe they are authentic (or just Google the phone number)... Still, some crooks and scoundrels will leave a message... Either way, the old adage "a fool and his money are soon parted" applies to anyone who falls for this scam.

I always copy the number into my iPhone directory and block the scoundrel and I'm never bothered by them again.

I got a call on my cell today, Jan. 22,2014 from caller ID 325-275-4000 and I rejected the call because I didn't know that number.  It went straight to voice mail with a recording.  When I checked the voice mail, it showed that the call was really from 956-202-9000 which is a call from South Texas near Brownsville.  The message was cut-off at the beginning but it was about home security and wanting to put a sign in our yard.  These scammers are masking their phone numbers.

Called cellphone - garbled message about "security" - called home phone Oct & Dec 2013 (see earlier posts) and are now blocked.
BTW - thanks to all who contributed here to report these abuses.

Got a call today from this number to my cell phone.  Let it go to voicemail but they didn't leave a message.  After seeing all these posts, I'll block it and not worry about who it might have been.  I live here locally in Abilene and it does say it's an Abilene number, so I almost answered it.  So glad I didn't.  Can someone give me the "do not call list" number?

The do not call list does no good. I have all of my phones on that list and it seems like I get even more calls!!!

How do you block it. I always save it as do not accept. but they call when i'm working or asleep. I would greatly know how to totally block it.
