- New England sola ConceptsThey claim to be Yellow Pages online and want to send me a refund for 599.99! They said I had signed up with them in 2010 and this is a refund for a cancellation. I spoke with the gentleman from (India????) and explained we NEVER signed up, never paid the 599.99 so why should I accept the invoice and then a return to get money back that I never paid them for...what a scam! When I would not accept the invoice they hung up!

- Laura| 3 repliesI was told I would be sent an invoice for $599.99 for the past two years of online yellow pages. When I protested I was sent to the "senior manager" who told me that he would erase the charges but I had to speak to a different department to accept the cancellation number and answer a few simple questions. It was imperative that I answer the questions with a simple "yes". I spoke with the "other department" but I didn't give straight answers. Eventually they hung up.
If you do a simple google search of "Yellow Pages scams" you will find that this is a common scam. DO NOT answer their questions.- Caller: Online Yellow Pages
- Scott PruittA man who sounded like he was from India asked if i wanted to go ahead with a cancellation request for "yellow pages online". When i asked what he was talking about he just repeated the same thing over and over again. He then transferred me to a lady who told me that i signed up for service in 2010 for 2 years, in which the first year was free and that she would now send me an invoice for the second year. When i told her to give me her name and number that i would contact my yellow page rep she quickly hung up on me.

- They want to record you replies to Laura| 2 repliesSaying 'YES" to one script so they can edit it and place that "YES" to another recording with a different script that would indicate you agreed to the 2 year contract.
they think their poorly edited recording will PROVE something, but it would fail a court ordered analysis -and won't stand up in court - nottakingitanylongercalled and left line open for a short period - after the lapse without any response I hung up - looks like this is fishy tactics - blocked calls from this # should they try again, reporting this here to add further testimony to this situation
- Church Secretary| 2 repliesThey have called our church several times. We don't have any type of Yellow Pages ads. They said our pastor (and used his name, which is a bit strange, as he has only been here a few months) had contacted them to have our ad cancelled. (When I asked Pastor, he didn't know what I was talking about) They were going to HAVE to send an invoice for 599.99 to pay for the past 2 years. I asked why they would have let this go for so long if we hadn't paid them. He mumbled some answer. (I must have thrown him off, as I was instructed to answer only 'yes' to all questions!!) I transferred him to our pastor and they hung up on him! They called back the next day, and I said "No... no, I am not going to do this with you again" and hung up. I imagine they will wait until we have 'forgotten' about them and try it again.

- PetThey talk in punjabi language so might be from India. Asking credit card nos and private info it's fraud and trying to cheat. We should be careful and govt should investigate and punish those.
- KHoustonFirst said he was calling to give me a cancelation number because someone at our company had requested that a subscription end. Then he tried to get me to agree to the mailing of an invoice. I asked him why we would get an invoice for a service we did not want, he said it was a subscription we had signed up for two years ago, it was free for a year, and now that we were canceling he would need to bill us for the second year. I just kept telling him no, he got angry and hung up on me.

- CarissaI just got the same phone call from Ballinger TX 325-718-4640. When I started questioning what they were telling me, they hung up.
- JennyYup - same exact story here. We're a small business and have been bombarded by Yellow Pages over the years to buy advertisement. We've repeatedly told them no. Just received a call from this number (325-718-4640) with a short-tempered, Indian-accent man trying to send me to another department to obtain my "cancellation" number - he was then going to send me an invoice for $599 for unpaid advertisements between 2010-2012. I had to get really angry with him before he finally hung up on me. I called the number back (mostly because I wanted to harass him a little) and only received an automated system that supposedly allows the caller to discontinue receiving calls; however, pressing "1" as prompted does absolutely nothing.
Complete scam. Just yell at the guy and he'll leave you alone.- Caller: Yellow Pages
- staceyI have had repeated calls from the Indian. I have been rude each time. The last time I was told I would be charged (actually the business I work for) 599.00 regardless. Told him I was reporting them. Claims to be from Yellow Pages.

- Michelle replies to Church SecretaryI just got the same phone call & the same response when I told him I was not allowed to authorize anything of that nature over the telephone - he would be required to speak with someone other than me. Quick hang up!
- Nick DangerThat number just called but....
If it's a number you don't know answer and hang up immediately.
If it's legit they'll call back and it really reduces the number of scam calls
because it shows as a not working number on their computer. - Church Business ManagerOur story has a lot of the same similarities to nearly everything posted up to this point: They supposedly called our pastor. The bill was originally 1299 but would be only 599 for services in 2010-1011. I spoke to an account rep, a manager and a couple quality control reps. The manager had a foreign accent, probably Indian. The quality control person wanted me to authorize the bill and then they would give me a cancellation number. They attempted to record me and I asked questions so they stopped the recording and started over. Because we started over 3 times, they transferred me back to the manager, but got disconnected. The manager called back again and I said I do not want to be recorded, just destroy the invoice, cancel the service and remove me from your call list. He tried to tell me it was the last day to cancel doing it by the method they were attempting (recording through quality control rep) otherwise we would be subject to the services in the future. I repeated that I do not want any bills or services and to simply cancel and remove me from the call lists. I had also threatened to contact our State Atty General office and the BBB. He said he didn't want us to do that as it would hurt their reputaion. I have placed a call and e-mail to our State Atty Gen Offc and found out there is an investigator assigned to the Yellow Pages Online Case (Scam). I am waiting to hear back from them.
