Caller ID says "local call" with a 330 area code proceeding.
What a bunch of morons.

I didn't bother answering.  My family's rule is "If we don't know them, don't answer.  Let them leave a message on the answering machine if it's important."

Since I was already suspicious, I just clicked the answer and then hung up quickly.

This was an odd number so my phone system allowed it to go to voice mail. Started out as "This is a Medicare alert..." I was in a hurry so didn't hear the rest. Sorry, didn't realize that this was such a new scam with only a few comments.

Yes callerID name was the giveaway--I use to reside in Cuyahoga Falls so I immediately recognized the area code. No it was not going to be a "local call."

Good rule, Mr. Wheeler. Same applies for my residence: if you don't recognize the callerID name, then let phone system work with it. If bad guys, then either they get hung up on, or if goes to voicemail, they hang up since bad guys do not want any record of their scams.

So if you are reading these posts, just don't answer when you see a cname of "Local Call." If they are not secure enough in their own skin to be properly identified, then they certainly won't get answered.

Caller ID said "Alliance  OH", which could be my phone company telling me there was no ID.
FCC rules require a caller ID for all such calls, so if the ID is blank, then a very high probability of a scam.
(and illegal to boot :)

This call is a political call to ask your assistance to take down Affordable Health Care, aka
Obamacare.

The message is filled with some of the most absurd inflammatory false information I have
ever heard, lol. You can opt our at the end and they promise to remove your phone number
from their list.

I asked to be removed so, we'll see.

Caller ID says "local call" and then the number.  I don't live anywhere near that area code so it's sure not local.  They never leave any message at all when the recorder comes on and I don't answer seeing it's NOT a local call and I don't know them.

Got a call from them just now.
Says "local call" but the area code is clearly NOT local. They are not just liars ... the are BAD liars.

This is the 2nd call I have gotten from them so I have now added the number to my "selective forwarding" list.
Should they call again the will be connected to my congressman's local office.

Congress allowed the loopholes that allow this vermin to operate like this, so I'll let HIM answer their calls.

Push 2 to be removed (which I did) or call 855-325-7111 to be removed.

Seem lately everyone from this bs to people taking surveys are calling.  That do no call list does wonders.

We get lots of calls from (330) 614-7305.  They are all dead air (no sound) and eventually a hang-up.  I think it's an auto-dialing service that has multiple clients.

Area code 330 is the Akron, OH area.

The area code 330 is not local to my area.  The phone number is 1-330-614-7305 and I have tried to opt out but they still call.

This call came through as "Local Call."

The RI area code is 401.

I never answer any call if I do not recognize the caller ID.

There are far too many crank and spam calls these days.

If these are Republicans calling me, as people have mentioned above, boy do these bozos have the wrong number.

I just got a call from this number and they ended up leaving an automated voicemail attacking the affordable healthcare act. The caller if showed local call but 330 is not even a michigan area code. Don't answer this call, quite frankly they should all be banned.

Never use any "opt-outs" offered by the caller. That just lets them know they have a good number and you will get even more telemarketing calls.

Got this call today but did not answer.  Caller ID says "Alliance, OH".  I can block numbers through my land line provider,  and the caller gets a message we are not accepting calls from this number.  

For today's Alliance OH, call....no use in filing a complaint if this is a Govt. caller.  Besides with the Govt. shutdown, the Do Not Call Registry online complaints is not available.

One trick I found successful in getting rid of a certain Robocaller "charity" who was constantly calling daily, 2 to 3 times a day:  I played the "We're Sorry, you have reached a number not in service....”  Get it on You-Tube at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E73mF5iNwOE

I picked up the phone and played it – never heard from them again!

Several elderly people I know have had calls from #330-614-7305 showing Local Call but don't answer as Local for Idaho would be area code 208. Why isn't the DNC list working?? Government or not it shouldn't make a difference if someone is on the DNC list!

Government shutdown means FCC is not operational and people cannot file complaints so they are increasing dramatically their opportunities to make calls. The last 11 days have seen a crazy increase in these calls, and more times a day.

Thanks for the Panasonic info...I have the phone never used the option. Will do a lot now! I too got local call and are code 330. No where near me. Appreciate the help.

Received two calls over about 30 hrs to my DNC landline. Display just had phone number with A/C. No message left
