Said they were a relative. I hung up.

they said they were a relative going to California and they had ran into a problem at the airport and needed money. They knew our first and last names as well as some vague personal family members names.

This is a type of "grandparent scam" only <insert the relative here>

They called me saying they were my cousins and they needed money I hung up its a Fraud

Called my mom (spanish speaking) and he told her it was her relative from Mexico Carlos (he knew her last name). She said I don't have any relatives with that first name and he hung up on her.

Called spoke Spanish, said his name was Carlos (my last name), my cousin, wanted to visit me from Mexico.

Called me in spanished and said he was my cousin Carlos.

called my mom told her hey hey my sweet anut its me your favorite nephew don't tell me you forgot me I am arriving at the airport in town tomorrow morning and I have some gifts for you from the familygive me your cell number and I'll call you when I get there in the morning

Wife answered, said was a cousin of mine "Carlos", wife asked where he was from, and he hung up.
Wish the phone companies would do something abut this type of fraud.

People spoke in spanish and had my dad thinking had relative stuck at the customs office. Money sent Western Union-to Romeila Lopez Cardenas in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. It was a fraud and we lost $600 dollars, tough lesson learnt and had filed case number with Western Union. They are also calling from 331-079-1184 and 301-620-4040 and 331-926-9709.

Got a phone call from this guys April 26 They asked my dad who was his favorite nephew, and also said it's me Carlos your favorite nephew I'm at Guadalajara Airport going to Ontario Airport, they called my dad like 30x saying my sweet uncle please send me the money by Western union and ill pay u back as soon i get to LA...I sold my house in Mexico and I'm bring back to California $17,000, but i need 1100 right now send me the money please..My sweet uncle you could even pick me up at Ontario Airport, they had us waiting for 5hr at Ontario Airport and we also lost 1100 we learned a lesson It was a FRAUD..I feel so bad for my dad that was his money for his vacations he was sad for 3 days, but i gave him back his money no choice..but he learn his lesson not too trust..

It happened to me too.  I lost a whole lot more.  Yes, lesson learned.

They just called us and spoke Spanish. We answered where the guy on the other line was "Carlos" a family member from Mexico. He said he has been trying to get in contact with us and was not able to. I didn't know who anyone with that name and knew it was suspicious. We asked what family he was from he hung up right away. Be very careful.

My wife answered the telephone, the person on the phone  said I am Carlos (+ my family name), he said I am a cousin of your husband.  I do not have any cousin named Carlos.  Do not answer a phone call from 331 926 9709.

Why are they dangerous people? They just called me...

Same person called me saying he was my cousin Carlos, he said he'll be arriving in the International Airport in Houston in around 3 hours, after I hung up I called my relatives in Mexico and they told me to not trust, that was a fraud so I called the police and made a report and never answered those calls anymore, 7 days later they called again from a different phone number with the same area code and my husband answered he told this guy he had filed a police report and that robber hung up, thank God he did not let us to waste our money with that stupid people.

Got a call (in Spanish) from this number telling me it was (I thought he said Pablo but it was slurred and I wasn't sure) + my last name. Said he would be in Houston as soon as he could get on a flight (he hoped in 20 minutes) and he wanted to come by the house to see us and give us some gifts. Talked about it being a long time since he'd seen us.  He knew my first name. I asked if he new our address and he read it off to me.  I told him to call me when he arrived in Houston and in the meantime I called my husband.  He immediately knew it was a scam. The guy called back a few minutes later to say he was in customs and needed someone who knew him to vouch for him so they'd let him go with the equipment he was bringing. I asked him again what his name was and he said Carlos very plainly but then slurred the last name. I told him to give me his call back number so I could give it to my husband so he could communicate with him.  He gave a different but similar number than the one he was calling from. My husband did not call the number and the guy didn't call again.
