Calls repeatedly saying I have a payday loan and they are having me arrested. Have never had a payday loan. Definitely never taken put an 8000 loan that I wouldn't remember.

Calls over and over again, thick Indian accent but says his name is "Officer John Brown" LOL, same exact message every time "the very second you receive this message, I need you or your retained attorney of record..." blah blah blah. Says I'm going to be arrested if I don't call back. Yeah right. This is a well known scam and I laugh every time they call and leave a message. I never answer, I've read that if you do answer, they'll demand money or insist you'll be arrested and they get irate with you. Do not give them the time of day. They'll eventually move on to someone else. Here is a report from someone else who has received a similar call from a different number:

I have been receiving grossly harassing and threatening phone calls (at my place of employment and on my personal cell phone) from a thick accented Indian guy, who claims he works for American Legal Services and that I have not repaid a payday loan. The same guy uses many different aliases and many different ‘hotline division’ contact numbers. He has threatened to send the police (we have a sheriff’s department and not a police department) to my place of employment and/or home to have me arrested, if I did not immediately pay them. Not only has he threatened arrest, but he has also threatened serious legal action and my kids (which I don’t even have). This individual refuses to provide me with additional information and anytime you challenge anything that he says, he becomes absolutely irate and he begins yelling, cussing and throwing around threats. I still don’t know how much money they are trying to extort from me because every time I attempt to obtain debt validation, he starts his antics and I end up hanging up on him. I have not paid them anything and I finally quit taking the calls and now allow them all to go my voicemail. When this individual calls (sometimes upwards of ten times a day) the number is typically “Unknown”, but I have received a call from 052543511. When I researched this number on google, I determined that it seemingly belongs to a, Thong Kee Motors located at K30 Kampung Kucai, Ipoh Malaysia (please see the following link: http://www.eguide.com.my/MY/COMPANY/94060/Tho ... m?Motor+Garages). This very well could be a completely bogus listing. I have also researched the numbers they have provided (in voicemail transcripts below) and have found that numerous consumers are also contending with this harassment and threats from this individual.

Just got a cal from this number, asking for someone I had never heard from.  When I told him this, he asked if this was a personal number or a business number.  I told him that it was a personal number.  He stated that he thought it was a business number, apologized and hung up.  Same thick Indian accent.

I just got the same call and ask me if I ever got a call from them and I told them no so she told me to hold on and I talk to this person with a India voice and told me that I have a payday loan of 8000 that and that I need my lawyer to call them back or I will be arrested.

I got the same phone call at my home and on my job from the same number telling me that I had a payday loan and if I didn't call back that I would be arrested and I told them to come on

I received multiple calls on friday and today. Would call and hang up on voicemail. Last voice mail said they were going to have me arrested and asked why I wasn't answering their calls. Said if I disregarded the message then all he could say was "good luck". Claims his name was Kevin and he was with Anderson law firm. He had an Indian accent as well

I got calls from 334-246-4088 on friday. they called my cell phone and when I didn't answer ( I'm at work ) They called my work and asked for me 3 times in a 90 min window. I am not allowed to take personal calls at work. So I got written up. This is a new job and I haven't even made it to my 90 days yet. The call stated that I had an outstanding payday loan ( never had one ) if I didn't pay them they would have me arrested and my kids would be taken away from me. Now here we are on monday and they have called my job 4 times today. How do I make it stop ? I don't want to lose my job over a scam phone call. This man said his name was officer Ken Allen, he had a VERY THICK acecnt.

Very rude calls names.When I ask for information becomes more irate. Says that the cops are gonna get involved and employers gonna know what was done.We repeatedly ask for information on this matter and he just calls names and threatens us calls both cell phones and my husband's work phone at least 20 times a day

Keeps calling the company I work for looking for a particular employee.  When I asked them to stop that they have to reach him at home.  They kept calling back then started saying he was going to eff me and cursing ad I hung up and now they keep calling and harassing me.  I wrote down the number to call and complain to the supervisor but it was they same person calling me who answered and pretended to be someone else.  I don't like the feeling of being harassed or cursed at.  This needs to stop!

Called my work and left a message with the name Eric Matthews of Anderson Law firm.  I called them back and they did not answer as Anderson Law firm.  Person just said, "Hello" in a foreign accent.  I asked who this was and they said "Anderson Law".  Calls from this number definitely smell of some sort of scam.

Called me again today ( 6 times ) called me a [***] , a [***] lair and threat to take my kids again. My friend was in the car with me and started telling him she knew this was a scam call and he hung up

I was hit by this caller yesterday to and told them I had their number and that I was calling the police on them and he hung up and have not heard from him again since then.

It happen to my wife they had her upset they got 643 off of us and try to get a 1000 more dollar of us but we caught it on time.they need to have there butts in jail or under the jail nothing but crooks .

I got a call from 334-246-4088 at work claiming to have a bill that I owed them. It was the "Law Office of Matt Peterson." They are totally scammers and I hope they get sued for harassing people like this.

I got a message from a Kevin Green also Anderson Law Firm...at my work. They must have their own good luck since this seems to be a common and harassing scam.
The messages will stop if you ignore them- I made the mistake of answering one and then even received the most absurd email demanding money I don't owe. They need to be arrested,

Received a call from Alabama - 334-246-4088 today. Threatening to have me arrested tomorrow. Wanted me to verify my SS# (which I refused). Come on over you sorry trash! Get a real job!

They keep calling me saying that this is a legal emergency and I need to call him back asap. Then in a couple hours they call friends and family saying they need to get a hold of you. Also they call from a S.O.S number and when you pick up they say you have a arrest warrant and they will arrest you and that they will contact your local police department. They say you took out a payday loan and your in default so they will prosecute you. Don't give any information out this is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!

This number 334-246-4088 called my place of employment and I happened to answer my phone but did not tell them I was the one answering.  So I took the message down.  The person's name was James Harris from the Anderson Law Firm.  I am to call him as soon as possible because it is a "legal emergency".  I didn't say anything more and hung up.  These are a series of phone calls that I've received at my place of employment and I have filed a complaint with the FTC and Consumer Finance.  There are several other phone numbers that they have left with different law firm names.  I refuse to call them back and the person speaks with an accent that I cannot understand.  Also when he was leaving the message I noticed that after every sentence there was a pause or delay in the call.  Don't know what that is all about.  Just annoyed and it is affecting my job.  

The "Anderson" Law firm is the name used by pretty much all the scam firms
