I received a call from a extended warranty company asking me how many miles do I have on my car.  I ask her how did you get my number, she said she got it from the Dept of Motor Vehicles.  I told her this is a registered "do not call" number.  I asked for
the company name, phone number and her name and she hung up quickly.  I called the number back shown on my called id and there is a  recording:  if you would like to be put on do not call list press #1. This is not the 1st time they have called.  I don't believe the "DMV" is passing out phone numbers. Be on the lookout for this number and don't give out any personal information.  If I wanted extended warranty I would have bought it at the dealer.

I received two calls from this number in the past 3 days.

This is an illegal call from a scam warranty company - they do sell auto warranties, but they are so ridiculously overpriced and contain so MANY exclusions that it isn't worth even listening to the pitch.

Be aware that only the manufacturer can offer a "warranty" and that any other company offering a warranty is doing so illegally.   All other offers must be for a "service contract".  

You can be ABSOLUTELY certain that if some schmuck is calling you from a faked number, won't give you a real company name, address or other normally shared information - you are dealing with scum that will rip you off.

This caller is definitely one of those.  It is easy money for them, they get paid up front and then they can run after they have sold thousands and live nicely in the Cayman Islands.   Literally laughing all the way to and from the bank.

I get calls from this # often. I decided to answer today. The guy wants to talk about my vehicle. I said no and hung up. I'm going to put a block on that #.

Got a call from this number asking for information about a car we used to own...stated the make/model and my husband's first name.  I said that we no longer own the vehicle and got a click in my ear as they hung up the phone.  Clearly a scam.

Called and didn't leave a message.

I rec'd a call from this number telling me it was my 'last chance' to purchase a warranty for my car- they said they had sent mult notices to my address that my current warranty was going to expire, and again, this was my'last chance'.  They knew my address and the kind of car I drive- I asked where they got this info, and they said from "Dodge"- I do drive a dodge.  However, what they do not know is that my husband is the F&I Director at the dealership my car came from- so, we know all about warranties, and what ours cover.. and what constitutes a scam! When I told him that my husband actually handles warranty info for the delaership where we bought our car, he hung up on me.  Shame on these people-- trying to dupe folks into paying for something that is NOT legit!!!

I received numerous calls from this number in.the past.  Some woman called today offering to buy an extended warranty on Cadillac, which ,you know, I traded in this summer. I told her that I'm not interested in warranty but can sell her the Cadillac.
She said that she is not interested in buying THAT car. I answered - that is strange: a girl who get screwed so much would appreciate a car with a big back seat.
She said that I have a nasty mouth. I told her it's better to have a nasty mouth than gonorhea in her [***] and hung up on her.
