they called and left a telephone number: 1-877-381-5756 stating they are trying to get an address for service and call this number back.  They are a collection company with bullying tactics and illegal tactics w/ efforts to try and collect wether they are contacting the correct number or not.   they do not leave the name of the company or person calling.  Report them to your local District attorney.

this guy is hilarious !! dial *67 then the number and he will try to be all nice and get your number to"remove " you from his list then when you dont give it to him he gets mad and starts cussing lol. just keep calling back from blocked numbers and he gets sooooooooo  pissed off . worth  the 20 minutes of your day to get back at one of the bad guys . lol

"a woman" left a message saying "we're seeking location information on an impportant matter that has been filed in ouroffice.  Contact us toll free at 1-877-381-5756".  I got this call on my cell phone.  Of course I'm not calling back...just read "Vengfull Idiot" comment   LOL

The "location information" language is straight from statute in the FDCPA. That is the only thing a collector can legally discuss until the alleged debtor is known to be on the phone. An "important matter" or "personal business" or some such nearly always is code for debt collection, again to stay on the good side of privacy rules.

If you are not the alleged debtor the caller wants, send the agency a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one. This will set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their peril.

The first guy kept hanging up on me when I called to ask what kind of company this was.   After about 5 phone calls, he transferred me to a nicer person who told me it was an 'employment verification' company and that someone probably gave my name as a reference for a job.   (trying to get me to give up my info).    whatever.   THAT'S not gonna happen.

These are the most annoying folks they call a government building asking for a person who doesn't even work there. And then says it will remove the number!! Well I explained to them it's illegal to call a government building for any reason or matter because there are no personal call in this location. If they call again the phone number will be traced and sued and fined if they do and charges will be filed. I hope they get the picture.
