Caller ID says New York,  called an hour ago left no voicemail. Usual BS call. I don't bother answering the phone anymore.

No one spoke.
I've changed my answering machine message to sound as if I've answered the phone on the 2nd ring, saying "Hello .... Yes?" to see if I can get the sources of calls like these to at least identify themselves to some degree, but they don't. They just remain silent on the other end of the line. I don't get it. Who wastes their time making phone calls for no communication?

Indian guy. Says calling from version but actually he's not. I didn't took any offer and they got mad at me.. ahahhahah

Got this call today. Offering Verizon service. Knew right away it was a scam because Verizon shows their identity. So for $89.99, we're offering 2 years of service with all the premium channels & 2 gift cards to something. "What service do you have?" Verizon! Oh ok ma'am continue to enjoy....

Some snake charmers running a scam from the subcontinent to fleece "rich" Americans.

We received call from an Indian sounding gentleman who said his name was Mike. He claimed to be from Verizon offering lower costs on services.  He asked what we had in the house for electronics.  He refused to send us any information in the mail and was trying to set up an installation date at the house for services we hadn't even decided on. He said that company policy was to arrange the install date first and then send the info to your email. When I refused to do this he got very rude and was trying to push a so called manager on the phone.  Beware of this type of call.
