I received a phone call from this phone number who identified themselves as from Brooklyn NY and from a company called Windows Cares, stating that my computer had been hacked.  I was unable to understand them due to heavy accent and requested to speak with a supervisor who's primary language is English and was not transferred after requesting several times advising that I have a hearing problem and not able to understand accents, they hung up on me.  When I called back I asked again to speak with someone who's primary language is English due to my not being able to understand and again they hung up on me.  I tried to call back and they disconnected immediately.  Beware public.  Too boot, I am on the National Do Not Call list.  Wish someone would actually fine these people.

I got a similar call from 347-227-6900 yesterday.  I have never heard of that company before.  The caller said my operating system has been sending them reports that it has a virus.  He asked me to go to my computer and he was going to give me instructions on how to remove the virus.

I got the same call today. They ask me to turn on my computer and help me to solve the problem. However, I don't feel comfortable to follow their instruction to do whatever they said. I worried they would hack into my computer. I asked them and gave me their phone number to call back. Therefore, I checked this information from search. Please aware this may be a cheat.

Someone claiming to be Michael Paul from Windows 7 service center called asking me to turn on my computer.  It was very difficult to understand him as he had a very thick accent, as if from India.  He said he was in Brooklyn NY.  I am on the "do not call registry" and this call sounded pretty fishy to me.

Just got the same call from Daniel Jones who said he is with Windows Technical Department and that my computer is broadcasting my information.  It came in as a private caller so I asked how I can verify that he is in fact with Windows.  He gave me the 347-227-6900 number and said I can call back and ask for him.  Which, of course, verifies nothing other than I can call him back, whoever he may be.  NOT

I received a call today from someone saying they were from Windows helpline and that my computer was being hacked. I was uncomfortable and asked for their phone number which they give me as 347-227-6900 which really doesn't identify anything. He said his name was Jack Pearson. He wanted to give me instructions to link my computer with their technical dept. to remove the virus. I had a bad feeling about it so I did not do it.

I received the same call today Friday, December 6th, 2013, saying that someone has hacked my computer. I could not understand them clearly but they said they were from Windows Helpline. I asked for their phone number which they gave me as 347-227-6900. I felt very uncomfortable so I did not go through with what they wanted me to do, which was link my computer to their technical dept. so they could remove the so-called hacking problem. It just did not seem legitimate.

Got the call from the Indian with thick accent stating his name was David Martin I called back and someone else picked up so I asked for david and he then picked up the phone.  I told him I did not have time and to please call me tomorrow.  So I will let you know if they called.  Total scam. I will use the excuse that I don't understand thick accents

Received same call as everyone else. Asked for # which he gave me. I told he I was going to call the police and report them. He said he was going to call the FBI and have me arrested. Total scam and I hope no one falls victim to this. I reported it to the FTC

I got a call from this number and pretty much the same kind of warning of problems in my computer.
Very strong Indian accent.  It soulnds like a scam to me.  I asked him to send me a letter with the test of my computer he was recommending.  He did not agre, but gave the number to call if I wished.  I do not wish.

12/16/2013 - Second call from same source.  First call was several days ago and had a very bad connection.  Like other comments, caller had strong accent.  Told me my system was hacked and system corrupted.  I asked why my security program did not catch the problem and was told that program was also corrupted.  We reached the point where I was told there would be a cost in the range of $70 to $180 depending how much work they would need to do to "solve" my computer problem.   I responded that I would have to think about it, fully intending to contact my security program provider.  At that point I was given the number 347-227-6900, ext 137, and was told the contacts name was Maxwell Lucas.  Out of curiosity, I goggled the phone number and here I am.  Needless to say, I will not be calling back.

Same thing: same numbers. person was Joan. Caller ID listed it as Private.

When I asked about what was going on, they said they needed me to log into the internet. I told them I was up on three computers at one time, so which one. They couldn't/wouldn't tell me anything, other than about to give me steps to infect my own computer.
