Left msg saying they were calling from US Treasury Dept Legal Svcs about my account...

Called and said from US Department of Treasury Legal Services.  I pressed button to connect to someone and a man with an Indian accent answered.  I said tell me what you are calling about because right now it sounds like a scam.  He didn't say anything and the phone disconnected on callers end.

"Nathan Connor" (heavily accented male) called and spoke to my husband. Said he was from the US Treasury Dept. and someone has "made a claim". He said that I had to call him back because my name was "implicated in a legal matter". I immediately Googled "Nathan Connor" and "IRS scam".

I had a very similar situation as the other posts, however, he proceeded to tell me there was a legal claim and that if it wasn't resolved, the warrant would be issued and we could potentially face prison time, lien on our home, reports to credit bureaus, etc.  I was caught off guard and was immediately furious and upset at the same time.  He hung up on me when I started yelling to let me speak, so I called back.  He then said essentially the same thing and hung up again.  SCAM!

Like others, the woman on this call left at least 3 messages yesterday and told me it was an important legal matter I needed to resolve and it was imperative I called NOW.  They called every 4 hours!  Thank you for this site to give me peace that this is a scam.  I've gotten calls from 2 other (347) numbers as well, all with the same message.

They called and spoke with my husband who thought this was legit as we had a previous IRS problem.  When I called back, I told him I wasn't giving him any information.  He told me it was in regards to an IRS tax notice XXX and had my name and address, which I confirmed.  He wanted my lawyer's address and told him to send anything to my address.  Sounded like he was calling from a car.  Wish I had not even confirmed my name or address.

Like others, got a call that freaked me out because every cent I make is legit and on the books.  They said I owed money from 2013 taxes.  I was thinking how can that be... and also, I got a tax refund this year.  If I had owed money, wouldn't they have withheld any tax refund?  They said they would put a lien on my house, garnish wages....  I called my lawyer and he said 99% sure it is a scam. Ignore.  He said IRS doesn't work like that.

Received a call from these people claiming to be the US Department of the Treasury calling to inform me they are taking legal action and have arrest warrants pending against me on 3 counts.  He gave his name:  Jason/Nathan Connor and Badge# 835110.  He proceeded to inform me of the counts against me for Tax Year 2013.

I told him I’d have to call him back as I needed to verify his call.  He insisted that I not delay as I have 45 minutes before they issue a warrant for my arrest.  “Come get me, pal!”  I replied.  “Are you serious? You would rather go to jail for 6 months than resolve this peacefully?”  “Absolutely! I know how you guys operate and this isn’t protocol, (expletive)!”  He was rattled a little bit and threatened me again with Jail time. You're going to issue warrants against me?  I thought they were pending....whatever.  I told him “You have my name and phone number, good for you.  So what’s my SSID ? What is my filing status for 2013?”  He said that wasn’t his department.  I hung up.  I’m so furious!   Do not answer the call from this number or from the Caller ID that says  New York, NY.

I received a call from this number, Said there was a legal matter and to press one to be connected to someone. I pressed 1 and was connnected to a man with a heavy accent and asked if he could help me. I said you called me, what is this about, he said office is closed call back another day and hung up on me.

Automated womans voice saying urgent legal matter.  Called back (knowing it was a scam to see what they would say). Someone with accent answered and said he was looking up my info based on the number I was calling from,  took a long time and then said he couldn't find anything and asked for any other numbers, I said NO.  I told him I have no legal issues so he can take me off the list but was on hold again.  Didn't want them to trace my number so hung up.

I have gotten two calls from this number today. It was a woman saying it was an urgent legal matter about my account. She didn't say what kind of account so I knew it was a scam.

I received 2 calls this morning from a perky girl who left the message to call this number regarding a legal situation.  Curious, & believing it was a scam, I called the number 347-284-6826 & got some guy w/ an Indian accent who said he was with the Dept. of Legal Affairs & there was an affidavit against my daughter.  I told him he was full of crap & I was hanging up.  Who the f*** are these ass***** who are calling us & wasting our time, not to mention scaring many people.  They ought to be arrested for making scamming calls!

Scam! Wanted to settle a tax debt. Said there was a warrant out for my arrest. Gave his officer #, had foreign accent, said he was from Brooklyn, NY. Wanted address of my lawyer. He said we could settle the debt in monthly installments. Eventuall he hung up on me after I kept questioning his name & where he worked.

Called RP and stated that they were from IRS and would need $5,000.00 to cancel a warrant that was issued for the arrest. RP had no past IRS issues and suspected scam from initial caller.

Got a call yesterday 9/10/15 saying urgent matter so I called the number and a man with a heavy Indian accent told me he was Nathan Conner with the U. S. Treasury and they were looking for my daughter.  I refused to give them information telling them I was an accountant and I knew this isn't how the Treasury Dept. works and he said just have her call us.  When I told him fine she works for a law office and I'm sure she'd be glad to call him out on his scam, he hung up on me.  They continue to call my house but I am not answering these calls.

Scumbags called me twice this AM. I called back and was told, "if you think this isn't legitimate you shouldn't be calling us" and then told me to get the best attorney in my town.

Recd 3 calls today. I tried to call back but was busy.  How to get this to stop.  I did the Do not call sight.  I hope this helps.

Received call from this number. Automated female voice said urgent matter about your account & please press 1. Pressed 1- got a busy signal & hung up.

Same kind of call. Ryan King is the one I talked to. He ordered me to call my daughter and have her call back. He won't answer now when I call back. Maybe because he didn't like the words that came out of this old ladies mouth.

Everyone should call the number back and as soon as they answer start telling them that they are scammers. I got thru to a person and gave them a piece of my mind. He was stunned. Now if I call back it rings once and then busy. Don't think they will call again. All the others I have gotten I just tell them they are scammers and they haven't call again.
