Said he was from the IRS and wanted info about me and my lawyer. When I told him I was going to call the IRS and my lawyer he hung up

Just got a phone call from this number too.  Said he was from the Investigative services of the US Dept of Treasury and he wanted info about me and my lawyer.  Gave me this same number to call and to contact an Officer Jason Brown.  Pretty good scam.  Don't fall for it

We have had several messages left stating that we need to call him back, Kevin Green from the Dept of Legal Affairs.
When i called back he was not available.   I'm glad i looked it up.

Received a call from 347-321-8040 stating he was from Department of Legal Affairs. Looking for more Information about my "Case" and that they needed my Lawyers information too. This is a scam!

same person called me from the number 347-321-8040 kevin green i called him off my house phone and he told me i had unpaid taxes from 2012 and he was going to have me arrested since he worked for the IRS  and i told him i was going to call my lawyer he hung up and every time i called back it went to voice mail

they called at 7AM with a woman saying they needed to talk to me immediately concerning a "legal matter". they called again at 9AM with same message. i called back later and an indian man answered saying something (purposely) so jumbled that you couldn't really tell the company name. i said, "i know its not YOU per se, but i need you to stop calling this number." he said, "really, why should i?" i said, "what?" he said, "give me one good reason why i should." i said, "you want ME to give YOU a reason NOT to call my number?" he said, "yeah, tell me why, tell me why, why i should, what you can do?" he then proceeded to yell into the phone like a child would over and over...."nyaaaah, nyaaah, nyaaah, la-la-la-la-la-la".....and hung up. these people really should think about who they do this to.........and who we may know..........and the inside connections & computer skills WE possess to track things down. just sayin....they really should just think about it.

Caller ID shows from NY. They called at 7 AM, woke up hubby and me. I said "How dare you call at this hour." and hung up. Checking my phone's "missed calls", I see they called again at 10:30 AM.
Heathens.

Received voice mail from 347-321-8040, thick Indian accent, couldn't make out name, said calling from Dept of Legal Affairs... action against me... call back or have my retainer call back.

Little does he know I don't wear a retainer!

This company also called me with the name of Annie Johnson, important legal affairs even says it is the U.S. Treasury, vey thick Indian accent, I called back and got a gentlemen with same accent, put me on hold and came back and said was I aware of the tax actions against me.  When I asked him who he really was and that I had pulled up the number on the internet, he slammed the phone down on me.  Clearly looking for information.  Watch out

Got a call and gave them the Haaa!, Huh!! can't hear ya, whaaaat!!    waatttt!  Im  haaa!!!  Huhh!!      they hung up..

Same experience as many here.  Man with an accent called my mother's house looking for me.  She passed the number on to me.  I called him back and he said that he was from the Department of Treasury and wanted my attorney's contact info so that they could proceed with the case against.

I laughed at him and said "case against ME?  I'm all saint-like and [***]"  He hung up.  I reported the number to the Dept. of Treasury.

My mother got a call from someone and because she wasn't me they wanted me to call Jonathan Davies back at that same number. He told her that he worked for the US Treasury and wanted to talk about a tax issue.

He, James, stated he was calling from the treasury dept about my 2012 income tax returns when I told him I was unemployed he hung up!

Received a message on my home phone from a woman called Annie Johnson regarding my son. Stated she was from the dept of legal affairs. Also said that legal proceedings had started against him and suggested that his attorney returned the call for him. Broken English and difficult to understand. Thanks for the input of all who have also received these bogus calls.

Received two calls yesterday on home answering machine from annie johnson one call after the other said she was from department of legal affairs and to call her back or have my lawyer call her back in regard to enforcement action against my name this is a bunch of crap

got a call from 347-321-8040 wasnt home said to call back and ask for an Anni Johnson, called back and a man that you could not understand answered said i owed 4000.00 plus in some kind of taxes if not paid id have to serve 6 months in jail, he asked me if i had any money i said no, i dont have any money, then he said you realize these taxes are from 2011 i said i have no money at all he asked how i lived i said the best way i can then he hung i called local sheriffs office and reported it

Received a call from Anni Johnson from the Department of legal affairs about an important legal matter that has already begun. It's a scam to get personal information. I called the number and spoke to a man who answered. I asked why they were calling people and scamming them. He said he was really scared and worried while laughing. Report this to the FTC if you get a call. The more complaints they receive, the more they will pay attention.

This is the 3rd scam of the exact same kind I have rec'd in 3 weeks.  This is getting really old.  I have a feeling that my info was part of the IRS hack back in May.  All of them say the same thing in a foreign accent, owe money or fraud lawsuit, IRS, need to talk to my lawyer....this particular one has called twice in about 3 hours.  I'm ready to contact IRS.

This is a scam. Spoke with an IRS rep who verified. She asked me to report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at www.TIGTA.gov. IRS impersonation scam.
