Called me at work

Sounds like the same dang company that used to call me from south Florida, Texas and Nevada. They don't speak good English, they claim to be a bill collector for a payday loan that I never took out. They are a scam and best I can tell don't even work out of the US for real. I believe they are located somewhere else and use the Internet to establish an American landline number. Garbage! If my email isn't full of scams my voicemail is! Despicable!

These people called me using the most subtle insults to try to get me to make a payment. Completely disrespectful! Should have never picked up to the [***]

They've called me 6 times today alone. Never answer but it's getting irritating.

They call, I never pick up, and their voice messages are someone breathing heavily in the phone. We're almost in 2013, folks. Can't someone invent a feature where you can easily block certain numbers?

If you have an android phone download mr. Number you can block any call. If you have an iPhone I tried finding an app like me. Number and wasn't successful...hope this helped a bit!

I get them all the time and ive been calling them back and bugging them and they are getting pissed

these people have been calling me constantly, i never pick up and they hardly ever leave messages and on top of that they never speak good english, and claiming their names to be be Bill, bob or Jane. :/

FIT CON :: A foreigner leaves a garbled message about a spa membership. Don't even have a clue who these people are. Another scammer!

I saved the number in my phone under "don't answer" and edited the contact to go straight to voicemail whenever they call.

Received a voicemail on my cell with nobody speaking but from the background you could clearly tell it was a call center.  I wrote their number on a blank piece of paper and send it from my office fax machine every night before I leave.  I'm usually the last person here, people keep picking up and getting those really annoying fax tones, and the fax redials 10 times before giving up.

False debt collectors trying to scam people out of money. Claiming that you owe money on some loan that you never had.

I received two calls from this number saying that I owe over $500 for an unpaid gym debt. When I told them I had no idea what they were talking about they tried to ask for personal information taht would help them to verify who I was in the system. I hang up the phone.

This number 347-348-0611 keeps calling my cell #. I have no idea who it is nor do they ever leave a message but continue to call.  Very annoying!!!!!

This is not a real bill collector!!! I have had 7 people at my gym complain about these people who barley speck English tell them they owe money. When I went to complain to the GM they told me they haven't received one payment from me and it has been coming out of my account for 3 years now. Im in the process of finding out who these [***] are. When I called them back to find out their address they kept asking me for my information.  Why do you need my information to give me your address. When I did get one it was bogus and said it was out of New Jersey when the number they called from is a New York number!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

After calling the offending number back over and over and threatening them with legal action, I finally cajoled them into giving me the name and mailing address of the company. It's First Credit Online, located in NJ. Here's the website: http://web1.firstcreditonline.com/main.asp?page=ContactUs 

They advertise as a collection agency for gyms. You can reach their home office at 1-800-606-7066 Ext. 2019.

I called after business hours, but I plan to call repeatedly tomorrow during the day. It's not how I planned on spending my day off, but I bet you anything they'll be more responsive to a threat to call the AG's office then the Indian call center was.
