They call and say that due to a recent purchase you made you have been awrded 2000 travel points.....scam...... its an automated message

another telemarketer trying to sell a debt-reduction ploy. dude said his name was alex. when i inquired for more info he suddenly hung up. huumm....

got a call today, automated "Hi, this is Rachael from Card Services calling about your credit card debt.  There is no problem with your cards...."  blah, blah.   I've pretty much got the message memorized because they've been calling here for months from different phone numbers.  If you get a person and ask to be taken off the calling list they hang up on you.

TOTAL SCAM.  They do not care that you've asked not to be called, they do not care that you're on the Do Not Call list.  Since the actual activity they're involved in is illegal (most likely identity theft but perhaps just outright theft or selling you expensive 'services' that you could do yourself for free) then why abide by those other pesky rules?

I've asked every time to be taken off the call list (over two dozen now) to no avail.  Got a call from them (same recording) on my other phone but showing a cell number in 818 (San Fernando Valley, California).

Some kind of SCAM advertising vacations - offering "press 1 to speak to our vacation specialist or press 2 to remove your number from our list" (ha! - like they would ever do that! These CRIMINALS are already calling me ILLEGALLY) I have no doubt the number on the caller ID is spoofed.

I just let it ring through to voice mail this time. Normally I would use this free software:

to screen out unwanted calls (best part is that it can give callers the special tone with the "this number is not in service" message) but you need to have an extra computer you can plug into a phone jack you are not using (or use a splitter between wall outlet and (1) your phone & (2) your computer.

I just got a call from this number...and it was dead air for 17 seconds before the line disconnected. Thanks to all of the previous posters, I now have a new friend to pester with annoyingly pointed questions! LOL

I let my ten year old answer this one...heheh they didnt know what to think when she answered the phone.

I called and pressed 9. I asked them what company it was and they said credit services. I then asked if they were with a bank and they said they were wilth 351 different banks. They said they had all my info. I then asked if they could tell me my name or who they wanted to speak with and they hung up. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.

No message. Caller ID only said New York

just got a call from "rachel" from a cell phone in NY with the same message....haha what a joke.

Accidentally picked up phone w/o checking caller id. Dude asked if I was interested in a vacation to Orloando, Fla, but before I could say 'no', a recorded message asked to push #2 to be removed from list--which I did.  Caller i.d. read New York Call.

Unwanted call and i am on the do not call list

got a call, pressed 9 to speak to a "live operator", and was told that this is a: "financial institution for Visa /  Master Card" , sounds like a load of BS

Got call today and I garrenty that person will not be calling for awhile.I've started to keep a boat whisel close to the phone and let them pitch their story and suddenly just give them a good long blast. SCARES THE HELL OUT OF THE CATS THOUGH.Getting a lot less calls lately.Hmmmm ,wonder why?

Received call in the middle of the day...dead air...3 minutes...then disconnected

Got a call from this number but did not answer.  A voicemail may have been left, but it was cut off.  The few words I heard sounded like a recording.

An annoying recorded marketing call pretending to check on my unnamed credit card account. They obviously didn't even know who they were addressing.
