got a call from this number but did not answer it. tried to call the number back and nobody answered and didn't get a voice mail or anything.

these people called me and harassed me :( i didnt  like it.

I received a call from 1-347-467-1047 claiming they were the Federal Grounds Dept.  They said based on a report that pulled my phone number, that I was selected to receive a government grant of $9,000.  They only asked for basic information (which I gave incorrect information to see where it was leading) & they wanted my zip code in order to find a money gram location where they would wire the grant money to me after I spoke to "US Bank".  I never got very far in the call because I wouldn't give any more information but this is obviously not for a federal government grant.  

Yes, I received the same type of call, wanted money to send my money.  When I started asking questions they got upset.  Finally spoke to one fella, of course they were are foreigners, he called Americans stupid, called me a [***], I'm a lady,  and the conversations went way downhill from there.  I told them they were pissed because I knew they were scammers and that I was going to turn them in.  They told me Americans were stupid because we wouldn't be able to catch them, how could I argue that one???? They wanted to come to my house, I told them come on over and see what was waiting for them when they got there!!!!!!! Federal Grant money is what they were GIVING away. HA!

10/7/2014 Time: 1813 I received a call from 347-467-1047. They said I got a grant from the government just in excess of $9000. They asked for zip code and my name. I asked them from with government department they were from and he replied with some unintelligible words, when I asked him to spell the department in question, he replied "You know what..." and hung up. His heavy accent was not American and sounded like he was from India.

they called telling me the same thing...that I was receiving this call because my name and number was selected by the federal grant department.  Normally I would immediately think fraud but I was recently approved for a state grant that I had been working on for work...they called my work cell phone.  So I though maybe its some followup call.  After a few minutes I realized this guy was a scammer.  Clue one, he said my NAME and number had been selected yet when he said verify your name so I said Justin...as to which he replied ok your name is Jackson correct?  Then kept saying Mr. Jackson.  (Not even close.)  Then he said you have three options to receive the money, straight into your checking account, a prepaid visa card, or western Union.  So I thought, lets see where this goes...if a prepaid card is an option they can't benefit from that.  So I said prepaid visa card.  Then he said ok what is your debit card number.  So I replied back with how about the western Union option.  At this point he kept saying hello Mr. Jackson  are you there Mr. Jackson.  So I hung up.  Then they repeatedly called my phone back several times in a few minutes.  I just kept hitting ignore.  Eventually they stopped trying...onto the next potential sucker.  

This caller was clearly foreign and it sounded like he was in a call center.

I just recieved a phone call from this number, saying that based on the fact I paid my taxes and bills on time, and hadn't been in trouble with the law for the past year that I was eligible to receive 9,200 dollars. Didn't ask my name and just said that my number was randomly selected and listed off my cell phone number. It sounded like he was in a call center and had a thick Indian accent. Gave me an ID number and a number to call to talk to a guy named Jim Smith. I'm super confused, and seems a little too good to be true since I have student loans coming due soon.

I just got the call from a woman. Super-heavy accent. Said she was calling from the US Government Claims Department. Something about my number was selected and  $9000.Unfortunately she woke me from a nap, or I would have played with her a bit. This is a scam. Period. As wasteful as our government is, they have NOT yet sunk so low as to just give money away to random people. Don't even answer the call. It's bogus!

Also have received numerous calls from 347-467-1047.  When I have asked them to stop calling, they call me right back.  Very strong accent, unclear, rude, .

got a call from this number when I answered it, it started ringing back like I was the one calling someone...I hung up.

I just received the same call from the same 347 number. I played along like I was hooked. Definitely a scam.

Same thing here grant money.
I know out government blows through Tones of cash but nothing is free.
Also our government would rather pay fat Americans huge sums of money, who Speak English then out sorce to another country that can't under stand when we respond to them. (347) 467-1047

They just called my cell phone. Didn't answer and googled to find this site. Wish I could take their $9,000 and shove it up their you know what.

I have received several calls from this number and just now answered it. The lady had a thick accent and was hard to understand. She asked me to write down numbers, I said ok but went straight to google to see what it was really about. Found this and it has SCAM all over it.

I let her do her shpill and then said no thank you im not interested. She said "What? Why you waste my time? JERK!" and then hung up hahahaha

Also just received a message, said they were from the federal government and I owed taxes on a grant. Told the jerk he was an [***] and I knew it was a scam - he tried to bully me. Nice try, too smart for this stupid nutcase.

I missed this call on my cell phone.  Thinking it was a friend of mine, I called back. A man with a heavy accent answered and said something like "Federal grant program." I said he had just called me a minute earlier. He asked for my name and number so he could "access my account information."  I said I did not have an account with them and he hung up. Scam!!

Me too.  When a man with a thick accent answered the ring, he stated something and I asked "Who is this?  This is a government issued phone."  He hung up.

This number has called me 6 times in the last 3 days. They also said I was qualified for a grant based on this and that. I have student loans so I thought maybe it was legit until they started asking very unusual questions. They also had a foreign accent. These are definite scammers. I do not know how they got my personal cell number. BEWARE of these folks!
