- Nicole| 3 repliesI got a call today from the Windows Service Centre claiming that my computer was receiving lots of errors. He directed me to the Windows EventViewer on my computer which showed me these errors. He suspected that I have 2 virus scanners installed on my computer which was causing the issues. I know I only have 1 Antivirus program installed.
The errors in the event viewer were nothing to do with antivirus software. I questioned him many times on the information he claimed he had about my pc and he gave me incomplete answers and kept redirecting the conversation. He was trying to encourage me to buy software to protect my pc for a year. $199.99. His name is Adam Riley and told me he works in the Windows Technical Department of an independent company (not microsoft). I asked him for his phone number and he told me it was 1-347-468-9607.
I suspect that this is a scam so I didn't give him any of my information. I hear about companies like this all the time. They scam people out of lots of money, especially the people who know little about computers.- Caller: Windows Service Centre

Samuel Johnson
Windows Operating Systems Main Server
Phone: 1-347-468-9607
He said we have viruses on our system & I should buy his program. I don’t trust this, have 3rd party IT monitoring our system but wanted to pass the info on to anyone else.
I think it's a scam.- Caller: Windows Operating System
- Mike in MD replies to NatalieKnown SCAM. Microsoft has an article about this and similar scams on their website:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
Do NOT do anything they ask, especially DO NOT allow them remote access to your computer. No third party that you have not set up with to assist you can receive error messages from your computer. If it is not your own IT support folks calling, it is a scam. - CanadaSame scam as above by Nicole. Now they are continuing to call us every couple of minutes harassing us....we have reported the number to the local authorities.
- johnGot a call from "kevin peterson" with a very distinct indian accent. Very aggressive about how hackers get access to computer license numbers and use them to commit fraud. He said he was in London (UK) and was from GCC Corporate at 1-347-468-9607. I hung up but the lowlife called back. So I hung up again. That was it.

- JamesThis is a scam. I am a computer tech and have had customers call me asking if these guys with the phone number of 1-347-468-9607 are really from Microsoft. They are not they try and trick people into thinking their system has problems by looking at a standard event log. And then say everything listed in the log is a problem that must be fixed.
I have had some customer tell me they will even try and trick them into letting this "company" into their computer. If they call just hang up.- Caller: They claim to be from Microsoft
- Carolyn| 1 replySam called me on June 4,2013 about my windows program being expired. believed story till after he transferred me to Mike Peterson who said he was in new york but I had already given my debit card info. I was transferred to Rana "in China" who had remote access to my computer. They already had hacked my computer and knew all my personal information before calling me. I lost all files in my windows program. Had to have it reprogramed. They continue to call and harrass me twice a day because "not allowing them to provide the service I paid for". Thank God thru my bank I got my money back ($299) and phone company blocked all their calls. I actually began to fear for my life. They called from a Texas number, then private numbers, then one from UK. Called all times of day and night. It's been a horror story. No help from local authorities or TV stations.

- scammedI got a call July 3/13 from "James Adam" id number 9023 telling me he's from the Windows security dept, phone number 1-347-468-9607 with a distinct Indian accent. He was telling me that my computer has been hacked, and my info is being used illegally along with my computer ID and any illegal usage would be my responsibility. He was able to tell me my name, phone number, address and my computer ID number. He wanted to access my computer to block the ID number and give me a new ID so the hackers couldn't use it anymore.I told him that I wouldn't do anything over the phone, that I'd rather go into a store and have them wipe my computer clean but he insisted that he would have to do it. I didn't comply.

- Ontario, Canada replies to Nicole| 1 replyI just had a 'Brian O'Connor' call me saying I had error and viruses on my computer, I asked for his number as the connection was terrible. Phone # 1-347-468-9607 calling from Microsoft Word.
The interesting fact about this call is that it came in 2 hours after I had spoken with a lady from Dell about a Word program issue and she had the same accent as 'Brian O'Connor' did!!!
Needless to say, I believed this to be a scam. - Ontario, Canada replies to Ontario, CanadaJust had a second call from these same scam operators about 5 hours after I received the first call, this time the guys name was 'Ricky'. Unfortunately Dell and many other large companies have other countries (i.e. India) handling their calls and these countries offer no security protection to customers in North America.
- tiredofscams| 1 replyOn April 25, 2013, I received a call from Barry Chortle of the Cyber Crime Dept. in Washington, D.C. He said that I had sent emails from my email address to several people telling them that I was stuck oversees and asking them to send $500 to my paypal account, which he said he confirmed was my account. He said the emails came from Pakistan or North Korea.
He gave me security details about my computer – IP address, GP, and CLSID (given to me by Microsoft).
In a later call that evening, he gave my daughter the following identification information:
Barry Chortle
Badge No. CD9022
5404 Wisconsin Ave
Chevy Chase
Washington DC 20815
1-347-468-9607
He threatened that my internet, cable TV, and phone would be blocked within 10 minutes if I did not do what he said. He was going to give me instructions, which started with disconnecting my computer from the internet for 10 minutes.- Caller: Cyber Crime Dept

- SteveJust received a call from an East Indian sounding lady warning me that hackers had infected my computer and were doing illegal things. - JuneAfter reading all previous messages regarding this number, have over the course of the last month received all of the above. Today I asked that they cease calling me or I would call the police. At which point the gentleman informed me he was calling the police and they would immediately be dispatched to my home if I hung up on him! I did & he called back 3 more times. I did not answer. This is bordering on harassment, besides being really annoying.

- Cynthia CampI received a call from Peter Greene (employee id 9005), he claimed he was from Internet Security Department for Microsoft Windows. His number was 1-347-468-9607. He told me that my windows license had expired, I have multiple viruses, someone from Japan is using my IP address for illegal use, and that my computer was not able to be used in a few days, as it would be locked down due to the hackers.
He wanted inside my system and wanted to connect to my laptops. This is a huge scam. He wanted $299.99 after he did some work on one computer but said it was for a new license that would not expire. This is all false info. Do not respond to anyone that calls from this company.
He could not answer any questions but kept telling me that this was a free service because I had already bought a windows license and Miscosoft caught this because the hackers were using my info for illegal activity and that I was in danger of going to jail for the illegal activity. When I refused to pay after he misrepresented himself as a Microsoft employee, he became very abusive on the phone and kept calling back.
DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE! THIS IS A HUGE SCAM!!!!!!!!!- Caller: Internet Security Dept for MS Windows
- archie g replies to NicoleI too got a call from a purported Windows service Center in Dallas , Texas , last night , January 12 th, 2015. . He claimed my computer was being used for illegal activities and transactions in India and other parts of the world. He offered to change the IP address for free then cleared my computer of all internet access claiming i would not regain access to my files or internet access if $ 199.99 was not paid in two hours . That was last night eight hours ago. He called a member of my family who was home at the time , who has limited computer knowledge of technical IP info and secured a change of IP address and pass word. . How do I reclaim my computer from this hacker in the BRONX , New York..
Archie G - SKN, West Indies - SqeakyWe had a call from these guys today. At first claiming to be from windows, then after us saying we don't use windows, they changed their mind and said they were from the Mac Server Centre.
Their story was that hackers were on our computer and using it right now Tomas conduct illegal activity. If we didn't log on to the Internet and "connect" Tomas their server in the next 30 minutes, it'd be too late.
They gave us a false licence ID never number, which is totally meaningless. They gave us their "Cayman" based number to call them back [13474689608] to "verify" them. The woman caller gave us her name as NANCY WILSON and her employee ID number as 9011.
I asked "Nancy" lots of questions- none of which she could answer. She then put on her "supervisor" Ricky, claiming again they were calling from the MAC server centre, in Texas, USA. Finally, after avoiding all of my questions he said, "Look, if you don't believe that we're only trying to help, why don't you hang up". Which I did immediately.
Both callers had Indian accents. There was a bit of noise in the background.
Please don't fall for these SCAMMERS.- Caller: Mac server centre
