- JustBob| 2 repliesRang, left no message. Number is an NYC area Verizon Cellphone.
Looks a lot like previous credit card rate scam calls with a caller ID of
CUSTOMER SVC. This one is CUSTOMER SUPPOR.
So, I figured I'd list it even if nobody else has listed it yet.
Bob- Caller: CUSTOMER SUPPOR
- Tired of Telemarketers and Scammers| 1 replyI got the same call just a few minutes ago, and the caller ID showed it as only "New York, NY". With the obscene number of computerized automatically dialed calls that I get (or was getting) daily, I went old school and put a "telemarketer deterrent" (the old school Telezapper) on the line that will tell these morons that my number has been disconnected. Thanks to my handy old school gadget, the calls have been coming in less and less with each day.
These guys (telemarketers) get your phone number from most anyone you do business with, to include businesses such as your local utility company, cable provider, and even your own phone company whether you pay for private, unlisted and unpublished or not. They even get the lists of numbers from credit bureaus and cite the "freedom of information act", and even when you tell them to stop calling.. they'll remove your number temporarily, and then you are found again with the multitude of "random number generators" that are out there. Say you live in 000 area code with the first three digits of 111 (not a real number of course, just an example), the computer will dial upwards of 500,000 random numbers daily; and once they get yours, call it, you answer and it is then verified the number is a number that is indeed in service, it's the same old ball game all over again.
Spending a little bit on a Telezapper was well worth it...they're not too hard to find online; and if you follow the installation instructions, they DO work miracles. There are several different models on the market now since they first came out in 2001... if interested in finding one, either Google search it, or hit up Amazon.
And yes, the Telezapper even works with caller ID and answering machines... not sure about VoIP.. one would have to research that one.
Good luck, and may the annoying computer dialed calls from these pests end!! :)- Caller: 347-502-2525 (unknown name)
- angryAnother scammer.
- L&D| 1 replyThey call and call, we tried being polite asking them not to call but it continued, In desperation we even tried blowing a loud whistle and it subsided a while. Now they are at it again. We are on all the "do not call" lists but these clowns persist. GRRRRR!!!
- Caller: Customer Support
- Call type: Telemarketer
- KarlyneAutomated call saying that the FBI reports that there is a home breakin every 15 seconds. They are trying to sell alarm systems.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- dagJust get a call, left no message, but as noted above I had previously received many calls re "FBI reports..."
I am glad I finally got voice mail through Magic Jack. Saves a lot of telemarketers annoying calls. By the way, it does no good to go on the do not call list - no one ever follows through; - MillieCall came in which showed New York, NY; I did not pick up. On my voice mail I don't state who they have reached, generic message from phone sysem. This gives us some privacy and the unwanted callers guessing.
- janetReceived a call from"customer service". I had a few minutes before tried to call a friend whose cell phone number was no longer in service and I was given the option of contacting "customer service" which I did not. It seems funny this call came only a few minutes later.
- Caller: customer service
- valvashonCalled at 11:00 am on 2/4/13; got answering machine but left no message.

- Burns| 2 replies347-502-2525 General Electric Home Security, keeps on calling even though I have spoken to one of their reps asking them to stop calling me, and also have "opted to have my name removed from their list".(probably just secured my number as "make sure you call this guy list") :) I have blocked them on my phone so they cant get through(service provided by the local phone company) That makes 21 numbers from companies like them and "card service" and other fine quality companies that are blocked. On the national do not call list for over a year ----hmmmm maybe I signed up for the DO CALL list instead. Hmmm Good to see that the govt is working at peak performance in helping its citizens. Next is to file a complain with the BBB and see what they will do. This is so much fun!!!!!!!
- Caller: General Electric Home Security
- BudTry using call bloching.
I can block 30 numbers with my TWC acct - RON replies to Burns| 1 replyThe FTC is a worthless government leach! I've been on the do not call list for almost 5 years and it's a waste of time. I've gotten over 1,800 unwanted calls so far and turned in complants on every one of them. How about ALA. (AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION) over 31 times. Not to be outdone, how about MARCH OF DIMES? 96 times! You heard right, 96 times, no message. The FTC says they are charities. I say they are a public nuisance.
- cme replies to JustBob| 1 replyIf you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. Recently, they shut down five of these scams.
- RichardMy caller ID records their number and my answering machine is set to two rings announce only. They receive this message: "HELLO, YOUR PHONE NUMBER HAS BEEN NOTED. GOODBYE." They can not leave their message on my answering machine so they are totally wasting their time. Repeated callers are blocked but few call back more than once or twice. Then at my convenience, I can call back anyone that I think may be important. If I am unsure of the caller I call them thru Google Gmail so they never know who is calling. It works for me!
- Caller: don't know and don't care
- George"Home Security" scammer. Today's caller ID was "New York, NY".
- Caller: Home Security
- mair"Just Bob" got a call from this number at the end of January; my call came on Feb 20, and the caller was listed as "customer support. I think they meant for us to support them. I am very grateful for caller ID - I do not answer calls from the vast weirds.
- LLMPeople, those of you who belong to the DNC list must (continue to) report these jerks to DNC each time they call.
Check this out by googling
The Today Show, Rossen, telemarketers - VashtiStill getting calls from this number. I never answer, yet they keep calling. Am looking into above-mentioned Phone Tray Pro and Telezapper. I've had enough.
- Caller: unidentified

- GaryI answered and got to a live person. I know, people here say don't answer but I try to keep them on the line as long as I possibly can. If I can waste their time then I win the game. Today I told her to hold on as someone just rang the doorbell. It only kept her on the line for about 30 seconds but I'll do better next time. Try to beat 30 seconds! Just don't give her any information!!
