- Rickeyspoke to a guy, I'm assuming he's from India and told me that I was selected by the U.S Govt for a grant that I didn't have to pay back for $7000.00. He collected some info...I already knew it was a scam. He gave me a I.D number and told me to call 347-535-4487 to talk to the claims department. I call the number and the guy there was explaining again and then I asked if it was a scam and he got really upset. Funny thing was is that he said he was in Washington D.C but as I was talking to him I was googling the number and it was a new York, Good try but you aint scamming me. Don't give out your bank info or buy the green dot money card. they will ask for the info on the card most likely and get you for that 200.00.

- Terri| 1 replyI received a call on my cell phone that I was randomly selected to receive $7000 grant money from the gov't. Told me my claims # and to call 347-535-4487 - asked where I wanted my money to go - my bank account or Western Union - I was not about to give out my bank acct. info. assuming it was a scam; I called the 347-535-4487 from a different number and then he wanted to confirm my cell phone number - he then told me I would have to go to a Walgreens to purchase a green dot money reload voucher for $4.95 and then load $150 or something like that on it. Wanted to know my full (first, middle initial, last name) - I would not give him my middle initial as he already had my first/last name. I finally hung up on him. Someone needs to stop this guy - it's obviously a scam - he definitely sounds like a foreigner
- Caller: Said he was from Federal Gov't.

The same as everyone above they have told me when I asked it was a scam they told me to fly to Washington DC if I want proof. Really. Then the next guy yelled at me for questioning it and hung up on me so I called back 4 times till he would answer his phone again if they can call us why can't I them. Don't trust them and I agree they sound like they are from India or something.

Sorry, I am having a bit of difficulty translating your statement into standard English.
However, why do you want to cancel your card ... unless you gave the card number to the scammer?
Things to believe:
• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it sounds (or looks) too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, or a grant from a gracious government <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to pay money for a loan or prize, before getting the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse.
