- John| 10 repliesGot a call from this number. In a heavily accented (South Asian I think) voice, he threw around names like "Damon Marshall," "Stuart Williams" and even referenced a conversation i had with a "Brian Cruz."
Needless to say...all of this came across as sketchy. I did not give him any information. And when I called the number back (to learn more before reporting), I hesitated a moment before even repeating my number. At that point, they clicked off and never answered again.- Caller: IRS

- TommyReceived 3 phone calls this morning from the "IRS" stating they were from the IRS Investigating Division. With a heavy accent, think it is from India, spoke with a damon Marshall telling me I own back taxes and penalties, etc, etc. etc. I pointed out to him that the IRS NEVER, ever, NEVER contacts citizens via the phone that they ALWAYS correspond via mail. He then threatened me with the usual throw me in jail, confiscate bank accounts or any other asset, seize all property, etc. Another person left a message on my ans machine and identified himself as "Garden (or some such) from the IRS - "call back immediately",
"do not ignore this phone call", of "utmost urgency", etc.- Caller: IRS Investigation Division
- AT| 3 repliesGot a call yesterday and today from this message. I was in, but on another line both times, and noticed that two lines lit up at the same time when this call came in. Voice mail is from a heavily accented male, who claimed to be calling from the IRS. When my accountant called the number yesterday, they refused to speak to him, and said I would have to call them personally. I know the IRS wouldn't refuse to speak with an accountant with a valid power of attorney, so I assumed it was a scam artist. When another call came in this morning, I looked up the number, and found others this guy has been calling. Called my local police precinct. Unfortunately, there is no telephone fraud unit at the NYPD, and all I can do is file a complaint. Asked her if anything would happen by way of investigation. She said, "honestly, no." I thanked her and hung up.

- Minneapolis| 4 repliesThis is a scam people. I to received a call from a man with a heavy accent by the name of John Smith asking for my husband, saying he was from the IRS and threatening take legal actions. As we all know the IRS will never call you no matter how much you owe. The IRS will only contact you via good old US mail. Further more I recognized this persons voice because he has called my number several times before over the past year with different scams ( payday loans, computer problems and Lottery winnings). The number of people to scam must be getting small because I now recognize his voice. Well Mr. John Smith if you are going to take legal actions I suggest you get started. My husband will not be calling you back. We will see you in court if you got the nerve and the Balls. In the meantime we will not lose a moments sleep. Good Luck to you Mr. John Smith.
- Caller: Claims to Be the IRS but is a scam
- Zanian Adamus| 6 repliesGot a call from this number today...they claim to be the IRS unfortunately they did not know I am a detective after recieving threats against me....First person who called me had a Indian Accent, and gave me a number to call back....I called and spoke to Damon Marshall...he spoken english clearly and fluently, cursing me out and threating me....I've got my division looking into this matter.....it could be a security issue to the citizens of the United States....beware of a terroist.

- Cheri replies to Zanian Adamus| 1 replyGot the same call --Jordan left a message to call immediately , urgent and that he was with the IRS I called back and Damien Marshall answered. I asked Marshall for his IRS ID as they are required to disclose this number to you if they are legit. Marshall laughed and gave some smart answer such as "so sweet of you to ask"....such a jerk. He was threatening and told me my ss# would be black listed, I would never be able to get a job, credit, etc. That he was going to all my employer and tell them I had committed tax fraud. He wanted my attorney's name so they could contact him upon my arrest. I asked him how much he thought I owed the IRS.. he stated $4500 and asked if I was ready to pay this amount now...obviously I am not that stupid; but many folks could be intimidated by him. I have reported him to the FCC for making threatening phone calls, to the IRS as they also investigate and prosecute those that pose as IRS agents. He is a scammer and a criminal. I am sure the NY phone company is going to shut him down ....very very soon
- Chuck| 1 replyGot the same call from a David Jones (heavy accent). he said IRS issue very important to call Damon or Demone Marshall at the same number he was calling from. I called back- no message just a beep, I left a message - they called back once - then I left it alone. This is got to be a scam.
- Prakash Kamath replies to ChuckI got one call too moments ago - this is from India. He asked me why I am frauding IRS. I said I wanted to have some fun and save money, and that if he wants to have fun, we can talk further...
That's when an Indian guy jumped in and asked him to disconnect ! - Heart Patient replies to Zanian AdamusI made a report on him today in Indiana, 347-559-7963 Damon Marshall Cruz, now I returning the calls and threatening him, I don't understand why he would make these calls but would not ask me for anything just telling me that a Federal Marshall was on his way to seize all my property and put me in federal prison for a minimum of 1 year.
- AmyJust got a call from the same number. Heavy Indian accent asking for my husband. Claims to be from the IRS, and he has a time sensitive issue to discuss with me. I did not answer, but the call when straight to voice mail. Surely there is a way to charge this guy for pretending to be a government employee.
- MeadowReceived a voice mail today from this same guy, this time introducing himself as John Smith (with a very heavy Indian accent), and from the IRS. The person is clearly the same as someone who called us several times posing as an employee from Microsoft (though calling from a different phone number) Back when he "was" a Microsoft employee I called back, and spoke to him stating that Microsoft never contact people without an "open ticket" and a ticket number to verify that a customer has contacted them for help. He hung up.
This time he asked for my husband by name, threatened with brimstone and fire if he does not respond back to him with regards to his "deficiency in his income tax".
IRS does not call people, they don't even have your phone number, unless you have provided it to them, and will always contact you via snail mail.
Clearly a fraud, and this time I will save his number, in case he calls back with other "good ideas". - CC replies to John| 4 repliesgot the same call a few time on my answering machine, I know it is scam, IRS does not call you, however, I don't know who to report it to, I think it should be reported, these guys can easily take advantage of unsophisticated people, seniors and citizens with english as a second language
- Elspeth replies to CCGo to www.irs.gov and report it there.
- arthur straussgot call, they did not leave a name or message..........they threatned to have me arrested, they said that they were from the irs threatning me. i called
eftps. they said that the call must have been a scam because their information was not valid. - Adam, business ownerYa I just got a call from this piece of S...! Called him back and asked him, with a few choice words, why cant he get a real job. He stated that he was just trying to make a living and I asked, by scamming people? He said yes! I then continued to tell him a number of things I would do to him if I could get my hands on him and he finally hung up. There should be a manditory jail sentence of five years if caught doing this crap. Hope they get him!!

- EvelynGot several calls from "Internal Revenue Service Department" over the weekend. IRS does not call you on a weekend. And, the IRS would have a local agent call, not Staten Island, NY calling California. I never called the 347- number because I knew it was a scam but I don't know what they wanted. This should be investigated by some authority.
- Caller: IRS "Department"
- Norman| 1 replyGot a call a few hours ago asking for my wife, stating she had a deficiency in her income tax. He threatened to have the sheriff come and arrest my wife. At that point I called him out on the call being a scam and said, with some choice words, don't you ever threaten to have my wife arrested. He responded with unimaginable threats and after calling the police and filing a report we discovered this website. Same phone number and same guy! 347-559-7963. It is important that we all report this to the IRS.
