I keep getting threatening  calls from this number. when i ask them who they are I am told that  they are from a law office and that i owe money I do not even know these people and they said they would call me night and day  with threats

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I got several calls yesterday, first they leave a message stating that "you or your attorney of record must call on this time sensitive matter" then identifies himself as "attorney" John Smith (although he is clearly foreign)  I began answering the calls and calling them names, they tried for awhile, about 15 calls in 2 sessions, but seemed to have given up.  This type of scam pops up every couple of years, this time it started right after I started inquiring about an auto loan earlier this year.

This is a scam.  Do not talk to them, just hang up.  The more you talk to them and question them the more they call.  I was a victim of this scam and I was on ABC News regarding this.  DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM, just hang up.  They are calling from outside of the United States from a country that does not have an extradition agreement with the United States.  The government is trying to get them on the fact that when they extort the money, it is deposited into an American bank and then transferred.  Trust me, I just got 3 calls from them in the last hour and this has been going on for over 2 years.

I'm getting these calls too. calling every hour on the hour leaving vm every time. the guy claims he is attorney David promise, when the calls first started bout a month ago he said he was attorney John smith.

got the same call from some dude threating me.  named ronnie . said this is time sensitive. who the *&^% are these people.  they left no name of company.  also told me i would be arrested if i dont comply hung up on them.

I. Just called Mr. John Mayer and had a little fun with him.  Seems he doesn't like the word [***] too much.   LOL.  I'm going to have to contact the Attorney General and the FTC and go from there.

I have been getting these calls too--and I agree with everyone, it is a total scam.  A couple of years ago, I did report them to our county attorney and he in turn called the attorney general's office.  Now they are at it again!

call 10 times and I kept hanging up after I looked up their phone numbers.  I called them a scam.  then they stopped calling.

Received 2 phone calls in the last 2 days leaving nasty messages on my voicemail stating that it is time sensitive and this is my last and final chance to speak with this "attorney" Today the guy said good luck with your situation and if you do not call me back at the number I gave you face legal consequences. He stated his name is Ronnie Taylor I believe, hard to understand his Korean speaking ass. He said it was my last and final warning. When I called back, he answered attorney office, wouldnt tell me his name and did not ask for my name but apparently they have caller ID. He said a sheriff will be out in the morning to serve me my papers and arrest warrent. The information he gave me regarding the company they represented was bogus and would not give me any contact information or a name to this company. He said it was too late and I would go to jail on 3 different criminal charges........ wow I am so glad he did not ask for any bank or card information!!!!!

Just happened to me today.  Claims they are the law offices of David Hernandez in Brooklyn.  They called my HR department and me repeatedly this week.  I almost went out to buy the prepaid card until I talked to a friend at work who googled the number and found this.  It pays to put your experience out there and it does help others.  My guy was Eric Foster.  They called back and it came up as SKYPE on caller ID.  My guy friend answered and told them they were being reported to authorities and I have heard back.  I also opened a complaint with the FTC and I would advise everyone to do this.  Find these jerks.

I had already done the reverse look up, so I started screaming at him with racial and profane epithets.  Finally he started responding in kind.

It was fun once I realized what he was.

I have been getting calls at work and home from them. They are  calling from 347-560-9981 and 760-483-3768

They called my husband 8 times since yesterday and said all the same things as above but his name was Ron Adams. They asked for $650.00 right then or it would be up over $1,000.00 and a sheriff would come to my door and start arresting people.
