unwanted phone number   seems like a solicitor

got one from them today, didn't pick it up

Suppsedly it was someone from National Grid asking to speak to the person who pay the bill. I don;t have a gas bill but they also knew my name... i don;t like that.

I reported this number AND 718-673-6123 (same National Grid Gas Billing scam number) to the National Do Not Call Registry.  Please do the same and maybe the harrassment from this group of thieves will be stopped.

Got about 13 calls from this number this morning. Very noisy static & hard to hear. Said his name was Eric the first time- on the 13th call (when he was forced to leave a voicemail) he said his name was "Officer James" and said my SSN was being put on hold unless I called him back with payment info. Number he left was 347.602.4559

Said he was from internet crimes division. Could hardly understand him, he was Indian or something. Wanted me to call back but I didn't.

I received an email from a company called ACS Incorp with the phone number  347-602-4559. They were telling me I had an amount of $948 owed and that they tried calling me several time and I did not respond. I have never received any calls from them. So tonight I tried calling this number and it doesn't even ring.

I also recieved a email from ACS Incorp with the phone # 347.602.4559 and man named Investigator Officer Morries Anderson.  They said I owed 986.45. They said that they have tried to call me on my phone but they didn't list my phone number in the email. They said that I would be sued and found guilty by jury and my employer would be contacted if I didn't call and make some sort of payment arrangment. Total they said that They would sue me for is $4515.85. I find this very suspicious. I would think that if these were real collectors they would leave some sort of voicemail or something. I looked up the number and its area code is listed for New York (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens). Also what kind of corporation has a return email address of  (acs.incorporation@gmail.com to bcc: me ). I believe this is a scam. What do you think?

It said I too owed them 986.45 on debt. If i didn't pay they would file charges costing me $4515.85 plus bond and attorney fees.

So the IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center) has decided to mark this case as a flat refusal and press charges against you.

Do revert back if you want to get rid of these legal consequences and make a payment arrangement within the next 48 hours or else the case will be downloaded against you.

Once the case is downloaded the creditor has entire rights to inform your employer regarding this and if you are found guilty under the bench of jury then you have to bear a law suit which will be amounting to $4515.85 and will be totally levied upon you and that would be excluding your bail charges, your attorney charges and the due amount pending on your name $986.45

I got the same email as everyone else.....they claimed i owed the same amount.....very suspicious

I just got the same email.

I just got the exact same email.  Same amount of money owed, threatened with lawsuit, etc.  It is also on my work email.  Scam?  I believe so!

I received the exact email listed above from Morris Anderson, word for word.  Thank you everyone for sharing.  Can't imagine this being anything but a scam and disgusting to boot.  I'm surprised it landed in my email box and not the spam box.

i received this email as well.  you call it back by blocking your number and some foreign speaking person answers.  we need to report these people!

I got the exact same e-mail letter. How can so many differently people owe the exact same amount...and the fact that this is all bogus...smells rotten. I guess some people will do Anything to make a buck.
