Had four messages from this number today.  The first part of the message sounded cut off, and it was definitely an automated voice.  Said I needed to call before the matter was turned over to the local authorities.  I looked up the area code - New York City area.

I could barely understand the message left on my voice message system but it was also related to be a fake robo call concerning a court house law suit.

Robo caller insists that I return the call as I'm being sued and will have to appear at "a courthouse". Incomplete and vague information but it manages to clearly state the telephone number I am expected to call.
Fake, fake, fake. No mention of which county. No mentioning of any person's name (never said my name).  Yet another reason to screen calls and DON'T PANIC when they are attempting to manipulate you.
I hate, hate hate this type of bothersome tripe.

Have gotten several of these that it is about a legal matter and to call back to avoid going to county courthouse. Ignore the calls and delete the messages. Have been getting harassed with phone calls like this since May. Tired of the nonsense.

Got a call at 9:02 am and 10:58 am today.  First part of the message is cut off; phone number to call back is repeated clearly twice.  Definitely a robo call.  There was no clear identification of the caller.  A search for the owner of the number shows it is private, which certainly would not be true of a governmental agency.  The search on white pages also notes this number as a potential scam.

Left several messages on land line from the "court house" I called back from my cell answered as IRS. I said "realy IRS you left a message saying you were the court house now you are the IRS? He asked if he could ask who was speaking and I said no, and he hung up. I called back and the number was busy.

Left several messages on our land line from the county court house or legal matter and to call back. I called back from my line and answered. Said there was a tax issue, then went into a long message saying all the things they were going to charge me. Gave a name as IRS officer and badge number. Was very hard to understand. Then asked why I asked for a name again. Call from NY

Called 3 times today with robo voice that drops a preposition around "courthouse" part.  I did not write down the return call number, so if someone has it, could they please post it.  The calling number was 347 983 0706.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Same as above.  Called twice, exactly 2 1/2 hours apart, this morning.  Found this report from 10 months ago:

"If you know you owe taxes or think you might owe, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS workers can help you with a payment issue.
If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to believe that you do, report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484 or at www.tigta.gov.
You can file a complaint using the FTC Complaint Assistant; choose “Other” and then “Imposter Scams.” If the complaint involves someone impersonating the IRS, include the words “IRS Telephone Scam” in the notes.
If you have any questions or concerns call the BBB at (256) 850-0719."
