Got a call from this number a couple days ago.  Recording of an Indian accented man using a fake English name (Bill Smith or similar) claimed to be calling from the IRS, threatening to come down on me for unpaid taxes.  Today, the recording was a woman who speaks English well, basically the same scam message.  Caller ID says New York, NY.

The IRS will NEVER contact you by phone.  They ALWAYS use the mail.

BTW, I selected SMS call type since there is no SCAM/FRAUD selection.  What the hell does SMS stand for?

Indian or Pakistany IRS scammers.   Ignore and block the calls.

Got the same call today as described above, threatening a law suit is going to be filed, thanks for the advice.

My girlfriend has a message on her answering machine today saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against her.  She called the number and a woman with a foreign accent answered but my girlfriend couldn't understand her so she hung up and called back.  A man with a foreign accent then answered and asked her if she would sleep with him just one night.  I'd like to know where he is located and show him some manners.   TOTAL SCAM.

I called the number back and they told me how much I owed the IRS.   I kept him talking to get a little information.  He wanted my cell phone number and me to verify I had the money in my bank.  I said I had no cell phone and he said I would get arrested.  I then said I could mail a check and he gave me this address 1111 Constellation Ave, NW, #5480 Washington D.C. 20224.  I was to make it out to the United Stated Treasury.  I  hope they are not targeting old people.  They are the most vunerable to this kind of thing.

I could not find a "Constellation Ave" on Google Maps, but the site did show "Constellation Theatre" and "Constellation Energy" businesses.
Even though It's been many years since I was in that area that avenue name did not sound familiar.

(Sounds like mechanical talking) - left message on my answering machine that this was the last warning - the IRS was going to sue me. Did not call the number.  This is a scam.
