Received this call on my cell phone; they did not leave a message, but I called back when I knew they couldn't possibly be open and found out it was this company...

received call on my cell phone; just wrong number but was reluctant to believe I didn't know who he was looking for.  RUDE.

Pioneer Credit is a collection agency for the government. They go after people with back taxes, student loans, back rent with the GSA, or anything federal.

What's terrible is they call every two hours to my home looking for someone who USED to have my phone number. I kept getting the calls and then, when I answered and DEMANDED to know who they were, why they were making the calls, and disturbing my sleep, the woman got rude and said, "Well, if you paid your bills, I wouldn't be calling!" I told her I wasn't the person she was looking for, but I CERTAINLY would be the person who was calling the Missouri Attorney General's Office!
She wanted to argue and then tried DEMANDING I give her the forwarding address and number for the person! I told her I had this telephone number for three months and got it from the phone company....that maybe she should stop harassing me and get ahold of them! That's when I told her, "Ma'am, I'm not joking about calling the MoAT. As soon as I get off this phone, they will be getting that phone call."

I hung up and called the MoAT's number. I left a message and then went online to leave another message on their site. I listed all the times and dates the number has been on my Caller ID and told them I intended on keeping a record of all the times since they were told to stop calling my number.

What everyone should know is once they are told to stop calling, each incident is an infraction punishable by up to one year in jail &/or a $15,000 fine. Missouri is diligent about chasing down these people and yes, they've gotten huge fines and a lot of businesses have lost their right to go after Missouri citizens using phone lines in our state.

Each state has a law. It's up to YOU to empower yourself to help the state you live in to stop YOU from being harassed. Make the call. They'll send you a piece of paper to log the dates and times so you can send it back as an infraction. Once you do, you'll see the state gladly go after the company.
Now, what YOU need to do is pointedly tell the person you do NOT want them to call your number again. You also tell them any time after that call will be considered an infraction and that you ARE contacting the Attorney General's Office in your state. Once you do that, they have 48 hours to stop the harassing calls. If they do, it's harassment...pure, plain, and simple.

Unfortunately your info is somewhat incorrect. In order to stop the calls, it must be in writing. You can not just tell a collector to stop calling. You have to put it in writing before it is enforcable. I used to work for a collection agency. I thank the good lord that I no longer work there!

Called my cell phone...please make them stop!  I don't owe anybody money! so if this truly is a collection agency...they are definitely infration!!!!

Boo... I was hoping it was something good.

I just got this phone two weeks ago.  Can't imagine why they'd call me.  Makes no sense for them not to leave a message if they're looking to collect money.

These people are on my caller id up to 5 times a day. I have been in and out of hospital and they won't leave a message. I dont know what they want and after recently suffering a break-down do not feel up to the harrasment.

Got two calls this morning from this#.  Second time they left a voice mail, "Wendy" wanted some unknown foreigner to call her back at 8662680819 and use reference# c29160.  I called her 866 number and got a voice response in French.

Correction their working number was 866 269 0819.  THey were very polite & helpful when I dialed the correct number to reach Pioneer Credit Recovery.  They found the account in question, verified it was not me, and removed the wrong number.

Rec'd a hang up on cell phone at 8:26 on a Sat AM, 10:12 on Sat. night, 8:16 on a Fri AM. 8:26 on a thurs nite, 8:22 AM on a Wed.,

They called me to see if I knew how to get a hold of my mom. they have her number and have been calling her about a student loan. She has tried to set up payments and they come up with something else that has to be done to even start it or they are going to garnish her wages. THey tell her to go donate blood or get another job to pay it. VERY RUDE. thye said onnly way to start payment is if they fax her papers and she doesn't have fax and would have to pay 1.50 a page at grocery store to recieve then fax back at least 10 pages. its reciculous.. I can't believe they calle dme looking for her.. She is going to be livid when she finds out. They harrass her at work and everything already.. this might be ;last straw

Well  I  have  a  good  one  This  company  called  me  and  I  answered  they  said  I  owed  a  company  called  payless  from  1988    Of  course  I  told  them  they  were  crazy  and  hung  up  Has  anyone  had  this  experience  before

After reading everyones posts here, I'm thinking that I will gladly answer the next call.  They've called 3 times already today and left no messages. They woke me up the first time they called.  It's Sunday!!!!  Does no company have manners anymore?  I owe NOBODY so I can't wait to hear what they have to accuse me of. We stopped answering our home number months ago simply because it is always telemarketers and political automated blah - blah - blahs.  There ought to be a new constitutional law about the invasion of our home's sanctity!

this number called me for the first time today and my wife answered. my wife asked who was calling and they wouldnt tell her, they just asked if i had a cell phone on me. I called the company back and they were very rude, telling me they were going to garnish my wages and take my taxes. they continued to threaten and harrass me about my bill. these companies should be forced to tell whoever answeres the phone what company is calling at least.  VERY IGNORANT

Now THAT'S relevant!  The next time I tell them whoever they're looking for does not have this number anymore, and they call again, I'm going to follow up with my own incessant calls at the most ridiculous times that I can manage!

I contacted Mr. Wickline at home last night at 10pm and I found him to be very nice and helpful in this matter. He said that he would have someone contact me this am and sure enough I got a call and I have been removed from there calling list.
