My friend received a call today from some guy named Michael Jones saying I used her as a reference for something.  He tried telling me he was with the US Justice Dept.  Well, I recognized the number and already notified the police since it was a scam.  He tries telling you that there a lawsuit against you because you didn't pay back a cash loan.  I never would be able to get the loan he claims.  Another thing, l looked up US Justice dept numbers and not even close for any of their divisions.  Do not give your information out and if you call it back, block your number.

Happened to me Too I am not sure who to call everyone I have tried so far tells me "good Luck" nice answer anyway I hung up but whats scary was the amount of info they had

Someone called me from 347-753-8183 claiming i owed a bill of some sort.  I know this is a scam because they gave me the same spill they did before when i was scammed.  Something needs to be done about these people trying to take folks hard earn money.  He said his name was Frank Hunt.  Beware of Frank Hunt.

Received a scam call from 347-753-8183.  Says his name is Jack Scott.  Middle Eastern sounding thick accent.  What a crock.  I tried to call the number back so I could get more information to report to the FBI but the line just range busy with one of this fast busy signals.  This happens to me about every month.  I report it to local police, Attorney General and FBI.  I would like to have my phone tapped so they can catch these people.  As far as I am concerned they are Domestic Terrorists playing upon people's fears.

once again the scammers strike.  this time with a mark miller.  the caller id says "052573584 INTL" but the call back is 347-753-8183.  i tested this 347 number and it is d/c!!!

They called my office looking for somone named Richard Connor, I have no idea who that is.  I got a few other calls for Richard Connor from insurance companies wanting to give him a quote, it seems that this person filled out a bunch of online applications.  That's probably how these scam artists get your information.  They keep calling threatening lawsuits and criminal charges.  I told them that I am an attorney (which I am) and that I was reporting them to the FTC for violating the Fair Debt Collections Act.  They immediately hung up, and I reported them.  Everyone who is getting calls from these people needs to report them to the FTC on their website at FTC.gov as well as to your state Attorney General.

These people are CRAZY they called my job and left message with a co-worker to have me call GARY THOMPSON  because it was very important! Yeah right! They told her that there was a case against me and I was being sued tomorrow morning for money owed. These people called once before ( foreign accent - very hard to understand ) and when questioned got irate and started yelling at me! When I told him my attorney advised me to have him send me notification in writing of who and what I owed, he just continued to yell and demand I give him payment and provide my bank information ! Like that was really going to happen, in any event I never received written notification, imagine that. This is a big scam and unfortunately some people fall for it, however don't give in, and go online and file a complaint with FTC.gov.

I get a call from these people at least 3-4 times daily.  They call at home, at work, even on my cell.  Each time they call, they tell me the same story - that i am being sued for money owed and a lawsuit is pending.  Meanwhile, I have never received any notification of money owed or a lawsuit filed.  I call the number back and it is busy.  Complete total scam.  I reported it to a number of authorities but nothing ever happens.  The only solution to the number seems to be changing your telephone number.  Do not fall for this scam.

Total Scam. Everything written in different report is done with me also. Today they said I am calling from BCI and they will put me behind the bars. When I said my attorney will talk to you then they said what you can do to get out of the this. Its total fraud. He call himself american and from accent its clear he is from middle east. These calls comes from 0000 or 052573584 INTL. Just be aware of these people.

So I keep getting calls from this number saying that I owe money for a loan I supposedly got. Do I contact my local police to file a complaint or what do I do to stop them from calling me????

I get the same call about 2-3 months, with the same message as all of the above, I took a cash loan and did not pay back their client so pay up if I do not want to go behind bars. I got one last evening on my way home, I still have the message on my cell, said his name was Christian Slatter, thick foreign accent. I told him for the last time if he could not give me proof of this transaction he can go F@# himself, then I tried calling back to tell him he would hear from my lawyers but the call does not go through. I cam in to work this morning and got a message on my job phone same number same name, I tried calling back the number but the line seems dead.

Just have lots of fun with these guys, could not stop laughing the whole time we spoke. I kept asking for a docket number for the case "being file tomorrow morning."  Caller kept getting angry and really showed broken English every time I replied that I needed the docket number.  I then just replied if the case is bing filed tomorrow then there is no case.  The caller became very angry and started mixing up his scipted lines.  I then repeated "You already said that,  but you did not give me the docket number."  The term docket number definetly makes them upset, he then repeatedly asked me to let him finish.  "The sooner you give me the docket number, the sooner you can finish," made his supervisor very upset.  Reply to "Only God can save you now" with "Unless God gives me a docket number, God can't save me." It really upset him and he had to pause for a few moments between the BS scripted lines.

I just recieved a call like this from a "Jack Scott" at the Justice Department who sounds middle eastern .  I told him I am not allowed to receive personal calls at work and that I have told them before.  He said there is a lawsuit being filed against me tomorrow and gave me his number to give to my attorney.  I asked him why they refuse to send me the information so I can forward it to my attorney...he hung up on me.  I already have filed complaints with the FBI and everytime they call me they say that a police officer si going to come to my residence or work and arrest me....that was 6 months ago....I am still waiting

I received a at work from a Jack Scott whome left a VM message only that their is a legal matter he wants to discuss and wants my attorneys number and stated the amount.  have nothing better to do and most embarrassing the nerve of them calling me at work when I have a lot of WORK

Do not call this number again.  I do not have a loan out that I haven't paid off.  This is a scam and I don't owe any money to anyone.  If  you call me again, I will press charges against you.

They just called me a jack cobb saying something about a loan that was not paid off i know this is a scam because the company he told me about i never ewven heard  of them i think they buy there list off the loan people and start harrasing you well they picked a smart cookie to mess with bring it

I got the same call today. I first asked the guy for an alternate number to call back and speak to someone else. Which he could not do. I knew it was a scam because the guy could barely speak English. I sent off an e-mail to the REAL Dept. Of Justice informing them and included the phone number. I believe it is illegal to impersonate an officer which a US Marshall is.

The number that they call on is a "magic jack" line that is totally untraceable.  Same story-total scam. I had fun listening to the whole story and then when he asked me for a fax with my ID, my card #, a written authorization to run a payment, and blah blah blah, i FINALLY called him out on it. I threatened to report it, he said he didn't care. I told him to go F himself, and when he realized he wasn't getting any money from me, he started engaging me in a bunch of profanities.  Good times.  Be cautious, but have your fun. Funny thing is, I work in debt collection-and they didn't even come CLOSE to following the laws. BEWARE :) Refused to give me a docket #, didn't understand when i asked what COUNTRY he was calling from-kept saying NYC but didn't know the word country.  I also asked if his building was a tall building with a lot of windows he could throw himself out-he didn't understatnd.  I had a lot of fun.
