No idea what the call was about - I couldn't hear them over the static!

started babbling about this being an important message concerning my electric bill..really? I have auto pay.. no doubt trying to sell me some dang  'cheaper' power.. their all thieves !! and why can't our amazing Reps do something about it?

Having seen the number come up before on called ID, I did the following:

Picked up, didn't say anything for a few seconds.
Then I said, Hello, softly.
I heard a series of clicks, probably as the equipment detected a voice, and started the roll over to a person or message.
As it wasn't human, I hung up before their next move.

Caller ID said New York NY rather than a company name.

No one answered when this number called and I picked up phone

This is an important message concerning my electric bill.. YA RIGHT SCAM.
They want you to switch to them DO NOT DO IT THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!!!!!!!

Said this was an important message about my electric bill, but didn't identify themselves as National Grid who is my provider. Since my bill is paid in full every month, I assume this is someone trying to get me to change my service.

It's a vendor trying to get you to switch to their electric service to save probably close to cents per month, meanwhile you'll still have to pay National Grid a small fee because they own the delivery lines. Anyway... that's besides the point. I'm on the National Do Not Call registry and I've also asked the reps to put me on their own Do Not Call list, but they continue to do so. I'm starting to get very annoyed.

This number keeps bothering me, I have no interest in what they have to offer and never asked for their services, please stop this call.

RoboCall with recorded message: "This is an important call about you electric account. Press zero to connect for an important message about your electric account."
My electric provider doesn't call me. This is an obvious scam of some sort.
Years ago there was a "slamming" scam where you pressed the number and it switched you phone service to another provider. DO NOT PRESS ZERO! File a complaint with the do not call registry.

Some recorded message about pressing a number to be connected to an agent! I blocked it!!!

Ignored unknown caller and added them to my reject list. Another victory for the good guys.

Unknown caller when I picked up I knew it was a telemarketer because I heard clicking for them to pick up. Caller id said call was from New York NY I now blocked this number  

No message left on cell phone.  No one has my cell phone number so I don't know how they got it.

It seems that now that the phone companies no longer charge for long distance calls, we will be bombarded as being on a Natl. 800 no-call list is virtually worthless. Good luck to us all as it will take Wash., and all those fine politicians, another 10 years,or more, to catch up with this nonsense.

Scammers ignore the "donotcall list", where you may have added your ph no - or may actually be using it as a database. It's just like "gun free zones" preventing mass murder.
