That I was being arrested for taxes due the IRS and never recieved a letter from them.

Pre-recorded voice said that a warrant had been issued for my arrest (although absolutely no personal details were given) and that my home address was on file.

This caller told me there was an arrest warrant out for me...............I hung up as I know this isn't true.

The person said he was Ronald Dunlap.  When he stated there was warrant against me, I asked "for what?"  He said they had mailed the information to me.  I told him they had not mailed anything to me.  I told him he was a scammer.  He began using profanity and calling me names.  I hung up.

Received a voice mail today from this number indicating they were from Criminal Investigations and for me to call them back immediately.  Had the same call a couple of weeks ago from Washington D C and the caller claimed I owed back taxes from 2004-2008, was a criminal and would be arrested. My lawyer friend has filed a complaint.

Received a message from this number at 1:12pm on 1/22/15. The call originated from Flushing NY. The man identified himself as Officer James Parker and said he was from The Criminal Investigation Division and to call back immediately. Division of what, he didn't say. Why there was a warrant, he didn't say.  I do not even live in New York. It was very upsetting to receive this call but your posts put me at ease.

This is the second scam call I received on my cellphone threatening me with a warrant for my arrest and possible arrest.  I have reported scam to federal trade commission and federal communications commission.  These people need to be stopped and prosecuted for intimidation and fraudulent calls trying to exact money.

Omg,I received a call from officer James Parker as well stated I had a warrant for arrest for tax fraud.When I refused to give any information he cursed me out.So glad to see this was fraud.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I received a recorded message that this was the FBI and there was an arrest warrant out in my name & address ----- DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER ------ IF YOU ANSWER , HANG UP IMMEDIATELY ------ THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!

I routinely get these scam calls, got a call from this number yesterday.  Probably 6th time I've gotten this very call, same scam from several numbers that I report on the IRS website.  Since the federal government can't seem to monitor these guys and the number is clearly available.   I choose to harrass them back.  First, when the heavy laden foreign accent gives a common American name, like John Smith, or whatever, the first thing I do is ask, no "who are you really?"  Your name isn't really John Smith is it.  Your parents didn't give you that name did they?  This flabbergasts them, then I say something like you don't really work for the IRS, the IRS doesn't call citizens of US like this.  Then I ask point blank, just exactly how much money are you trying to steal from me?  They usually erupt into a fury that usually ends in profanity, if they don't start cursing immediately.  When they threaten me that the police are coming for me, I say ok, and dare them to send the police.  I say take your power back, and confront the con artists and tell them that they are liars and thieves.  Harassing them back gives me a small satisfaction, and really annoys the crap out of them.  I turn it into a game, and what are they going to do actually call the police?    

I got a call from this number today and she told me she was with local area police and that I needed to return her call to straighten the matter out.  Local area?  Really?  I'm on the other side of the US from where this call originated.  I too am getting tired of these calls.  Another number to watch out for is 202-697-9286.  These people, usually male, barely speak understandable English.  The other caller  from the New York area code, who was female, spoke very good English.  Hopefully, there have been enough complaints about this that something is being done to end it.

Received a call yesterday @ 11:00 am.  Woman's recorded voice told me that the call was in regard to a warrant for my arrest.  Advised me to call the phone # she gave to "verify" the details.  She said that they had my phone number and this is an urgent matter in relation to a federal crime.  I hung up and immediately reported this to the FTC.  Got the same call 4 hrs later!  This time, called the FTC reporting line and left the details.  Also called my local police but they were very "meh" about the whole thing.  So flipping annoying!
