- Anne| 1 replyMicrosoft Windows scam - heavy foreign accent - wanting access to our computer. They should add "Scam" to the list of Call Types..............
- Caller: Scam
- DeekieReceived call from this number. Answered it because I was expecting a call from out of state. I said hello and then they hung up on me after the 4th hello
- Caller: No clue
- MaryI have received a call from this number 2 days in a row. Name was Brandon, Heavy accent. I believe he said he was from Global something, but it had to do with my computer. I asked everyday to be taken off his list and he said that was not possible as they aren't telemarketers. He said I could hang up the phone but another person will still call me anyway. I called the # back and it said it wasn't a good #. One day the # said Private Caller the next day it said Name not found. How do I get them to quit calling?
- Caller: ?? Global something happening to my computer
- Ed B. TexasThey've called a lot, I finally answered. Heavy accent, possibly Indian. Described as "the taking care of company for Windows and Mac computers". Asked about my home computer, said that "harmful" files were being deposited on my computer, not a virus or tracking cookie, so not detectable by anti-virus software. He said they "just want to help", ask if I run Windows and imply they are working for Microsoft. He to ask me to go to a web site, at which point I know it's a scam and tell him so, ending the call.
- kmHeavily accented voice, multiple foreign conversations in the background. Computer scam - "your computer is connected to the internet and is in danger". I try to keep them on the line as long as possible, with inane questions, to delay their call to the next person. (Which computer do you mean? What error code is displayed? Could you repeat that? Hang on a second while I reboot. Is the screen supposed to be blank?) After a while they get so frustrated they hang up on me.
- Caller: scam

- pcThis call came from some 3rd world person claiming that my computer needed to be fixed. He could barely speak English. Microsoft, Apple or any other pc company will NEVER contact people unless you initiate a call to that company first. They actually prefer to correct problems online. This is more like he works for 'Let's Stick to the Stupid Americans' because they are stupid enough for fall for THIS IS A SCAM. Told the moron to go jump off the short end of a long pier. He just did not get it.
