- VictimThe Spanish speaking individual states he represents the IRS and that the Sheriff's office will be contacted within 24 hours if I don't call back immediately.
THE IRS DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE ON THE PHONE. THIS IS FRAUD. - Not so dumbDef a scam. IRS would never contact anyone in this manner. The guy started screaming at me and calling me a crook when I questioned his motives.
- wdhDidn't answer. Left garbled voice mail in poor English.
- Fraud callthe caller tried to state that I would be arrested within 24 hours if I did not pay the IRS. Very pushy. He finally hung up when I would not agree with him.
- Unnerved360-200-0925 A gentleman with a thick Indian accent called and left a message about legal action being taken. I called back and he told me (long story short) that a random audit was done in Oct of 14, that mail had been sent in Feb and May of 15 regarding this issue. They said I owed some $2,700+ and that if not resolved today, they would contact the police and I would be arrested within the day. They said to resolve this issue, I could not end the phone call (saying I would have to keep the phone on and on speaker while I drove to an IRS office and paid them), I could not disclose any information with anyone until after I paid and then I could contact my attorney or accountant to review and dispute. He called me a "fraud" and said "you kind of people are why this country can't progress" when I said I want to resolve this, but I need more information. Very unnerving.
- Caller: "IRS"
- SteveDefinitely a scam. Received the same call twice. Each of the 3 times I called back they tried to get information from me. When I refused and tried to get their information, they gave garbled instructions in a very thick Indian accent and hung up. I never gave them my information, and interestingly, their number wasn't accepting my calls after my 3rd call back.

- TracyI saved a computerized voicemail telling me to call this number. So, I called back. I spoke with an Indian guy with a thick accent who told me he was with the IRS and he told me that he sent me a letter in January 2015 stating that I was being audited and I owed the IRS money and then he asked me why I had not responded to it. I told him I never received a letter in January. When I told him that this sounded like a scam he told me that he was going to contact my local sheriffs department and file a warrant for my arrest within 24 hours. I replied " Great. Go ahead and call the sheriff!" and then he hung up. Then, I called the IRS scam hotline and reported this number as a scam. I am stunned that the same number just called me back five minutes ago. I did not answer it but they left that computerized voice message again telling me to call them back. I am very tempted to call them back and "play along" like a scared woman and give them all kinds of bogus info. :))))
