- Cowboy Bill| 2 repliesThis is the number that I am supposed to call about IRS lawsuit. Caller ID came up as PAYPHONE 607-231-8335.
F****ng slime ball scammers. - Stooge replies to Cowboy BillReceived the same call regarding IRS lawsuit. I don't think the IRS would be using the automated system. They normally contact you by mail regarding discrepancies. This is a scam, as the previous poster listed.
- JJ EllisReceived a voicemail message from this phone number. The non English speaking person rambled on asking if I received a message on my phone. I said yes. He asked about my name. I couldnt understand what he was saying, but I knew it wasn't correct spelling of my name. Then asked me my name. I gave my last name. Then I asked who he was and what this was about. He immediately hung up.
- Ohio| 1 replyRecording saying the IRS filed a lawsuit and to call them. Do people fall for this?
- Caller: Scammer
- acc replies to OhioSadly, yes. I don't remember the amounts each year but it was millions.
- sdok| 1 replyYep - got one of these automated calls this morning as well. I was just curious where the number was coming from... I know better than to call back - but hmmmm.... interesting that they can leave a call back number and not get in trouble from the real IRS for impersonating??
- Caller: Fake IRS
- AndrewGot an automated msg saying it was the IRS and I was being sued. Some [***] [***] answered when I called and I couldn't hear what they were saying when I told them to talk into the phone they hung up. I called them back but no answer

- jeniferbrd| 3 repliesWe received a computerized call from this number stating that it was an IRS Lawsuit and we should call 360-205-3728. I have read online at the IRS website that they NEVER send voicemail messages. All calls of this nature are a scam. Of course I didn't come back
- Caller: Fake IRS
- Call type: Prank
- MichelePre-recorded message telling me to call them they are the IRS and I am being sued by them ,last warning. What a joke
- Caller: UNKNOWN1
- EllenReceived 2nd automated message informing me that this will be my final notification that I am being sued by the IRS. This time the # that the call came from now comes up as unknown, but the # to call back for more info is 360 205 3728. Prank call was the closest, but they should have a felony classification for impersonating a federal agency to commit a crime.
- Call type: Prank
- ChrisThis is a SCAM, pretending to be the IRS. The IRS website makes it clear they will NOT call to threaten arrest or demand immediate payment. I filed a complaint through the IRS website, and hope others receiving this call will, too. This is the second time I've gotten this exact same call, and the 4th time I've gotten fake IRS calls. (The other two were from a different number.) I don't understand why the IRS can't track them down through the phone number they leave. Please let your elderly family members and friends know about this ongoing scam, as they may not think to question the call's validity or to look up the number online.
- Caller: IRS - FAKE
- Call type: Debt collector
- DebReceived numerous calls re IRS lawsuit against me. If this were really true, why were they so prompt in sending my income tax refund? Seems they would have confiscated those funds. My elderly neighbor also received these same type of calls from the "IRS" for taxes due on monies that she would receive after she paid the taxes first. I intercepted the calls and spoke to a very thick accented Indian person from the "IRS" whose name was "Milton". I pretended to be my neighbor using an Indian accent and after playing gullible and excitement, I got his info as to where to send the money to him. I then told him to "stop the B***S***" informed him that I knew this was a scam and to never call this number again. They had threatened to call the police on my neighbor so I informed him that I had already called them. He abruptly hung up.
- Caller: Fake IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- JoeyDee replies to sdokThey're probably in India or Pakistan, far from the reach of any US agency, at least for the time being.
- SpunkyI received one of these scamming calls saying I was going to get sued by the IRS. it was from above number.l I would like to find out who these cretens are and then get them arrested or worse.
- Caller: did not give a name- said they were the IRS
- Wally BallouI received a call as well.
Speaking from personal experience, this is not how the IRS contacts you.
They come with both barrels, and let you know right away what is going on.
No need to call them - they will come for (I mean to) you.
PS - go for an offer in compromise.- Caller: 360-205-3728
