The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.

Have no idea why, so I called back and let it ring until I got a message machine that said I had reached the "Gibsons". Obviously a scam. I work for a government agency and will be reporting it.

- TRGot call this morning from this number. They left voice message--sounded very Indian dialect--said name was Agent James Brown, with case number from Audit and Commission Dept of IRS. Said 24 hrs or I would be arrested by police. Called back, person who identified themselves as Attorney Gary Stevens hung up when I asked for Agent James Brown. When I called again, just rang busy--appears they can block your incoming call. JERKS!!! Guess they are too lazy to be honest, would rather steal from you and let you work.

- Old RedneckDid not answer, they left a message. Call was a recorded female voice, bad recording, broken up in places. Claimed to be from the "Internal Revenue Services" -- not the "Internal Revenue Service" (no "s" on Service"). Recording then said "The IRS is suing (long pause) you (long pause) call 360-216-1918."
- Mr. BSame as "Old Redneck" called the house 3 times today. Also left a voice mail. Same female voice. Last call was 6:30 PM. Put that number on my block list.
- C HScam!!! Claim that the "IRS is filing a lawsuit against us". Report them!
- MsKZCalled my landline twice today and left voice mail message that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call back immediately. Old Redneck quoted the message perfectly. So obviously a scam...like the IRS would ever have robo-messaging and no toll-free number. And to try to make it look legit, the Caller ID shows "Washington Call".
