This number belongs to XM radio.  Numerous calls a day.  Very annoying.  To get your number removed from their list you must provide them with your account number.  I never signed up for their service.
I asked that since they have my phone number why can't they just remove it?
Duh?  

I bought a used car that had been leased and was equipped with the XM antenna. Not only do I get phone calls every day but I continue to get mailings from them. Yes, it's very annoying. What happened to the governments system of blocking unwanted phone calls?

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of " do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

It  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.
