They wanted me to pay $3,000. I did not give them any information and they said they were going to have a police officer come to my house to arrest me.

- MikeThey called me twice today. I didn't answer and no VM. I DESPISE these types of people, so i decided to call them back. They answered and asked how they could help. I told them I missed their call and they asked my name. I said No, you tell me who you are. "This is the Federal Investigation Bureau, can we have your name". I said no you can't, what is your business to be calling anyone. They said the office is closed and to call back during normal hours and hung up. So I called back. The same woman answered and said "Please leave your message after the beep" and the beep was a tone from a number. So I began spouting off at them. They hung up. So i called back 6 more times, same thing. On my 8th call, a male voice gave me the same voicemail message. I starting laughing and asked how they could still play this game? You just switched voices!! After 5 seconds of silence I get "F*ck you you f*cking a**hole". Now the phone is off the hook, can't get through...... FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE WITH THESE IDIOTS.
- KelseyI got a vm from this number too. Guy said his name was chief Daniel Wilson. Said he was from the Federal Investigations Bureau and I would have legal trouble in the future if I didn't call them back.
- Bryan MillsBetter call them back at once or they'll be drastic measures taken. "Federal Investigations Bureau, huh?" The initials say it all, FIB. These idiots never give up. For Pete's sake don't be calling these crooks back, but just let your phone ring, instead. They'll eventually quit pestering you if they don't get an answer of any kind.

- Malcolm Daigeau| 1 replyGot a call from these people claiming to be the IRS saying they had a case against me for $4986 and this was their final attempt to collect or have me arrested. Upon me questioning them, one of them made the mistake of saying he was an officer in the Seattle Washington DC police department. Also, when I asked why they'd never sent me anything in the mail, they said the IRS doesn't contact people in this way. The first person on the line said her name was Alice Cot. The second person claimed to be Jeffrey Johnson. The third was officer Williams. All three sounded like they were from India.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail. - K2| 1 replyThey called me today for the first time and now they are saying to call them regarding a lawsuit against me (maybe the IRS has contacted them?). I filed a complaint with the FCC here: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us , not sure if that will help...
For "Call Type" on the submission form for 800notes, perhaps they could add a selection called "Fraud"?- Caller: Out of area
