no one on the line when answered, and even on subsequent answers, no response

I've had several calls but they never leave a message and only let the phone ring 2-3 times.

No message left. Called me at 2:22 this afternoon.

Calls but leaves no message. Has called twice in one month.

Called twice this week, left no message.

Same as other posts; rings 2-3 times and stops.  It's from one of those police "charity" scams where 95-97% of contributions go to the solicitation firm and the small remainder actually goes to any law enforcement organization.  It's legal unfortunately.

I've been receiving calls from this number for a couple of weeks. In spite of demands to cease and desist, the calls keep coming.

I contacted the Washington State Attorney General's Office. They are aware of the number and have investigated.  As it is a "registered charity," their hands are tied.

The Attorney General's office gave me the web site of the Washinton State Fraternal Order of Police. I emailed each listed officer. Within an hour, I received an email from them indicating that they would remove my phone numbers from their call list.

They are calling about a, "memorial fund."  I find this telephone harrassment a bizarre way to honor fallen heroes.

We have been getting calls from this number for at least three weeks and up to 8 times a day everyday all hours!  On our caller ID, it came up caller unknown, but once today, they screwed up and didn't block their number from us and the number 1-360-547-1900 and the name Police Memorial Fund showed up.  I was so happy to finally have at least a number to look online and see if anyone else had the same problem.  We have had five other calls today so far, but the ID is showing caller unknown as usual.  They usually call and let it ring a few times and other times, they ring till the answering machine picks up and they don't leave a message.  I feel harassed and it is getting really old!  I can't believe that it can be legal to harass you like that just because it is a registered charity.  I like what Captain Negative's answer was and I might try the same thing.

Started getting this call on my home phone. Caller ID says "Police Mem Fund" and the area code (360) I think is in Spokane WA. Spokane was recently mentioned in the national news as being the number 1 city in the US last year for mail and phone fraud/scams. Then the local WA news had a story about some of these law enforcement/firefighter funds as questionable because very little of the money actually goes to them and the bulk of what is raised stays with the for-profit professional fundraising company. Beware anytime people call for a "charity" asking for money.

The area code 360 is Marysville WA. That is what showed up on my caller id. They just called my house a little while ago. The area code for Spokane is 509. I know because I live near Spokane.

Unknown caller from this number. I answered, said he was with the Fraternal Order of Police, don't worry you're not in trouble... then said he was collecting for police memorial fund, would I donate.  I said my husband is past president of our local FOP and he proceeded like he didn't hear me.  He asked again for a donation and I said to call back when he was home, then he said he would send out donation form and how did I spell my first and last name. I asked, mine or my husbands and he said I'm sorry i didn't get that, spell the first name again, I repeated my question and he said again spell the first name.  Wierd.  I think it's all automated.  I hung up.

I live in Seattle and keep getting calls from this number...360-547-1900.... I've learned to just let it ring. I've talked to them a couple of times and asked them to send printed information or refer me to a web page.  Of course they never do either, they just try to keep me on the phone till I'll give them my credit card number... fat chance!!!

Sometime I'll get calls with blocked caller i.d., but never answer them.  I don't know if they're from this group or not.

The times I have picked up the phone and talked with them, the caller was an aggressive sounding guy, he started out by saying the call was being recorded.....  with the implication being, "We're the cops, we're calling you and recording the call, we know who you are and where you live, well, are you gonna give us money or not?" --- not that he said that, but it had that kind of feeling to it.  It felt more like a shakedown than a charity call.

What's irritating is, I'm on the do not call list.... they don't seem to respect that.

I have a friend who is a cop and have great respect for the police. I don't believe that the police have anything to do with these calls. I doubt that much of the contributions go to them.

Real charity, but they donate such a SMALL portion to the "cause".

I got a call from this group yesterday evening.  When I asked what percentage of the money went to the police officers, the guy said "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble hearing you.  I think I have an issue with my headset." and then he hung up on me.

Two years ago, they were a "vietnam veteran's" drug education program. They would ask for my wife by name (sorry, not here) and they would call back over-and-over again until I got nasty with them.  Last year, they were a "fire-fighter's memorial."  They called twice daily (according to my CID logs on the computer) until I told her she was dead (she's not.)  Now they are either the POLICE MEM FND or the FOP MEM FOUND and have called at least two-dozen times since April from 425-437-0640 360-547-1900 253-275-3600 206-866-1920 206-682-0415 with those IDs.  Today, they asked for my wife, I asked who was calling, they said the FOP Memorial Fund.  I told him we seem to get a lot of calls from different memorial funds.  He said if she wasn't there he could call again later.  I said, no, tell me more about your organization.  Do you have a website?  He said, that's ok sir, have a nice evening. (CLICK)  S-C-A-M-!  But if you found this site, you already suspected such.

Very bothersome to receive these calls.

Repeat calls, no message, hang-ups if I don't answer. If I answer, I am asked to give $$ after listening to the person's rapid fire speech. They talk over me without listening to my response or request to be on the do not call list.  They claim they can't hear me and keep talking.
