Called collect claiming to be from the county jail..name given was John... I disconnected .

Recorded call claiming to be from Whatcom County Correctional Facility.  Gave options to press numbers to accept or not.  I hung up on it as I believe it is a scam.

Recorded call claiming to be from Whatcom County Correctional Facility. Gave options to press numbers to accept or not. I accepted, but it didn't work. I was then given an option to be connected with a person for help, which I did. She said I would simply have to wait for them to call back...No call back - guess I got lucky!

RE: 360-671-3433 ... Have a new cell...only a half dozen people know the # and none of them are in jail :) ... received 2 calls and like Tami above...let it go to voice mail believing it to be a scam. Called the police and reported it...they didn't seem concerned.

Yes, I too got this collect call from the Whatcom Correctional Facility. On the recording he told me that He loved me.....And to accept the collect call. Im in a relationship already (married 36yrs)...
Did not accept charges, Ive got the same call twice in one week.

Got the same call with the message, when I pressed 1 on my cell phone to take the call they hung up.  If they call again, I will report the number.

Received a call claiming to be a collect call from a County Jail with the recorded name being "Dwayne".  Don't know anyone in jail let alone a Dwayne.

Received 2 collect calls from this #. Southwestern ? correctional facility.

Same as above, recorded name was Tayler Xxxxx. Called whatom county correctional facility; they said they had no inmates by that name. Then got a call from someone who knew this person and had been asked to call my number thinking It was Tayler's father and was surprised that it wasn't. Said she had been in jail with her. Doesn't seem like a scam but

I'd also like to know who is calling. All I know is they claim to be whatcom county jail and say my balance has 0 dollars and for the call to connect I need to add funds by calling another number.  Also,  they've called me 3 times in the past two hours. I don't know anyone in jail.

Same as Tami from Bellingham. Caller asked if I would accept a collect call from "Mike". I hung up.

I received more than 10 voicemail's claiming to be from Whatcom Correctional Facility. One had the name of Bri, another Daniel Smithen and an "I love you, baby." Odd how all of these people have my number. Much less having male & female callers from the same facility. They also gave a number of 888-729-4326 to set up a payment for prepaid calls?

I have never heard of the facility (probably made up). I do not know anyone in jail; in fact, my brother works for the Sheriff's Department.

This is NOT a scam, that is the number that shows when an inmate calls from whatcom county jail, if you were hung up on or didn't know who was calling it was likely they misdialed, it's not like they have a cell phone and can just search your contact and press call, again, this is NOT a scam or fake number, I know because I live in whatcom county and have been called by someone I know who is currently in jail

Not a scam, whatcom county jail, along with other correctional facilities, use a service called legacy inmate for inmate call services, that way the person being called isn't charged, the caller, or someone the caller knows, adds money onto a legacy account to use for phone calls
