Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - Lori HillSaid it was the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against me!
- Caller: Unknown Caller
- Thanks replies to PETEMy taxes are pretty simple, so since it said unknown caller, I thought it was probably a scam, someone also does that saying they are from Windows with an update! Thanks again!
- Carlos replies to SammyI recieved the same message yesterday...called them today after work to be asked many personal questions like tel...full name etc...and to be told that I was being sued for back taxes...when I know there is Noooo such thing!!! They hung up.....tried calling back again...I believe they recognize your telephone number because this time they started cursing at me...hung up again! My wife called our phone service to research the number...it came up as a SCAM! We got the number blocked on all our lines and were told to go on Google and look up the number...that we were NOT the only people being Scamed!!! SO YES THIS IS A SCAM!!!! Sorry NOT us....My wife is to smart for these things!!! Thank God for her!!!
- Allen replies to LoriI got this same lawsuit call twice last week. I have reported it to the real IRS on their fraud investigation site www.tigta.gov
- Joe MYep, got the same prerecorded message about being sued by the IRS on June 11, before there were any entries for this number. Figured it was a scam, and forgot about it until I went back to delete old voice mails. Double checked, and sure enough this person has been busy auto-dialing a ton of people. Always be suspicious of weird and/or unexpected phone calls from strange numbers.
