Picked up it was an automated message saying that the IRS detected fraud activity and to call back right away - Total Scam!! I answered the call and they said i had to call them back when i was already on the line.  IRS doesn't contact people that way, Dont Answer!

left message saying irs is coming after me with fraud charges.  hahaha  said to call this number before it gets filed in federal court.  to funny

Yeah I just got this call on my cell too 2/10/16....def sounds like a scam....not buying, they can have a nice day!

I received a voice mail from this number, saying it was the IRS and that I needed to call back for fraud activity.
It showed the call coming from Washington DC, so I called back. I had a feeling it was a scam, the man who answered had a very thick accent. I could barely understand him. When I asked why he called me, he said he was looking for someone with a different name, told me to forget the call.

I got the message, called back..... The Indian guy said I owed $1800, told me I could  be arrested. To prove they were right, he said the IRS agent would come to my house. When I told him the IRS wouldn't come to my house, that they would have me come to their office, he hung up. Sent a message to IRS, then called the number back, got a answering machine..... Told to go f' themselves, and not call my phone again.

Just got this same call. So according to everyone on this board...this is totally phony...correct? I dont want to call this number back but kind of concerns me a little...

IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

When I talked to the person, I gave out no information. I received my return on 2/11/16. So they probably just moved onto someone possibly more vulnerable, I asked more questions and them no information, so they hung up.

I got this same msg on 2/13/16.  My suggestion:  BLOCK THEM!  Ha ha...

I just got a call from this number.  I called back and they said they were IRS  and I had to make a payment right now with a VISA card for 250 or else they were putting out a warrant out for my arrest AND that I owed back taxes from 2010.  I hung up on them and they kept calling me back.  CRAZYY  its a  scam!!   Who makes IRS payments with a VISA CARD!!!

Just got a call simular to the ones on the message board.

Receive the same scam number today 2-17-16.... C'mon Man!  Don't fall for this BS.  Just laugh it off and block the number if you know how.  Have a great tax season everyone.

Scam, guy with a thin Indian accent

Guy with thick Indian accent, couldn't understand the words he was saying, asked my hubby to call, the guy hung up on him and got mad since my hubby wasn't having his BS.

Recd msg telling me i was under invest for fraud. Offerered " resolution " via  monetary   Transfer indians scamming just ignore their bs

They tend to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.  They sense vulnerability on your part so they will sometimes keep on calling over and over again.  Ignore and block.

Received a call from 360.746.2558 on 02-17-16.  Male with thick accent says he's from the IRS.  Knew it was a lie, asked a few questions, called him an ugly name and hung up.  Also reported the number to the IRS.
