Just received a call (which I did not answer) but they left a message saying "The IRS is suing you.  Please call this number immediately".  Well heck how stupid do they think we are?  The phone number, the message and the fact that I don't owe taxes are clues that they are not on the up and up.  Check the IRS website for more scam info and if you get a call from them report them to the FTC (other avenues to report these scams listed on the IRS website).

I knew it was a scam when I heard that the IRS had filed a claim against me when I knew that wasn't true. As a matter of fact I got this call twice and knew what was coming the second time, so I immediately hung up.

They called me twice yesterday, i Didn't answer and they left a partial message informing me that I was being sued by the IRS and to call them back immediately. They started calling me back today 7AM sharp. I'm about to block the number

just got the call, hilarious .. pretty sure I would have received an official letter, since "they've been trying to get a hold of me"

I just got the call to and immediately thought scam and googled the number. I'll report it to the IRS.

Bogus phone call stating all the IRS

Didn't say anything about IRS, or suing me in the voicemail, just asked me to call back concerning a case #. I called back and as soon as the person answered: "Internal Revenue Service" (in a very thick and almost non-understandable accent) I hung up. I know I have no issues with the IRS. I hope others will be as wise to this scam. It has been all over the news. Don't fall for it people!!

Same here.  Just listened to the VM.  Called back just to see who would answer.  The person didn't even speak English.  And Washington State is not where a national IRS iffice is even located.

Got a robocall 10:40 AM from this number claiming IRS is filing a lawsuit and this is my last chance.   Good news is that if true, I won't receive another bogus call.

This person just called me claiming to be from the IRS & said I owed money. The foreign accent made me think she also knows that Nigerian prince who's been emailing me. Oddly enough, she got an attitude when I called her out as a scammer & told her to go f*ck herself.

I built a fake IRS soundboard if you really want to troll them. The reactions when scammers realize they're arguing with a recording of themselves is priceless. Pure rage. Happy to share, did it for the lulz.

Caller said I'm being sued by the IRS and to call back at this number.  Scammer- as I am not having any trouble with the IRS.  This is probably illegal but I don't have time to follow up on it.

The message just gave a case number & asked I call back - nothing in the message about the IRS.  So I actually called & the guy in broken English claimed to be from the IRS & actually had my telephone#, name, and home address.  Even though I wasn't interrupting him he told me to "be quiet while I read this statement" and proceeded to read a statement saying I was being sued by the IRS for a miscalculation on my 2011-14 taxes and made all sort of threats including that they were going to take away my drivers license. He then said I owed something like $3,786.73 and asked if my miscalculation was a mistake or on purpose.  I told him it was absolutely on purpose & I always cheat on my taxes (obviously joking).  He said it was okay if I just paid the amount, or I could "fight the IRS if I wanted real trouble."  I couldn't stop laughing and told him I was definitely gonna fight it & he just hung up.  Fun stuff, except they've called me 3-4 times since.
