Caller left a computer voice message claiming to be the irs and saying there was a case against.  When i called the number there was no one there

Answered my phone and there was silence and then a message saying "I'm Sorry" and beep then quick hang-up...   So, I called the number back and a man answered the phone saying "IRS", I said "hello" then silence.   I asked again is this the IRS?   He said "Mr. Alvarez" then I said no I think you have the wrong number!   Then he hung up fast!   I called the his number back again this time he answered "IRS" again but I asked is this the IRS?   Then a message saying the network was down try again later???   SO... now I'm sure something is fishy, I try calling back again and there isn't even an answer it says this caller isn't available and a beep and phone call hangs up!!!   Well, I filed a report with the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration or TIGTA at https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml...   We will see what happens!!!

Thanks to those who reported.  I got a similar call last month and reported it to state & federal DNC as well as IRS.  This time the caller did not leave a message, but I've still got a few slots left in my call-block list.

received a call from this number.  I thought it was a scam and did not answer. They did not leave a message.

Received a call from this number, after a couple of hello's  the caller said my name and said they were from Microsoft.  I advised them they were scammers and to take my # off their list.

Caller said he was from Dell technical support.  Said my computer was sending an error message and he would help me repair it.  I expected this was a scam and told him I wasn't near my computer.  He wanted to know when he could call back.  I didn't give him any time to do so.
I did call Dell tech support and found out they don't make any outbound calls except when there is a case number based upon a customer calling into them.  They also said if you have a doubt about a call, ask for the callers Dell Badge ID and the 9-digit reference number for the case.  Dell will never give out over the phone the 9-digit reference number - only send it to you by email.  So, if they give you one, it is fake.  [***] these [***] who try to scam us.

They are, and furthermore, Microsoft doesn't call, I don't think.

They just called me saying they were Dell Tech Support, but told the guy that they were scammers, and guess he didn't like what I said, so he hung up on me.  The nerve, and here I wanted to slam my phone first!

It is a scam, IRS???

Got a call from someone claiming it was Dell, and that my computer was sending them error messages from malicious software. As I knew this was a scam I decided to play along for awhile. I said, "Oh my god, my computer is infected? What should I do? I'm so scared." And on and on. He told me he would tell me what to do and I needed to follow his instructions. Of course I didn't do that. I asked him if this cost money and he said after he checked to see if there was a major problem he would transfer me to the software department and they would tell me how much it costs. I told him he was a scammer and that Dell did not make these calls. And then I hung up.

Got a call said  from Dell and I was having problems with my Dell so i started  to type in  windows R and also asked  why  so i did enter it than clicked  off  after  i knew  it was  a scam so i hope I clicked  fast enough?? What was  i thinking

This number is harassing us at our business saying the same items as you all mentioned!! Called us three times today and four times on 9/10.
