This is the latest in a new round of incoming spammer-scammer calls where a city name shows up on the caller ID instead of the caller's real identity which is always masked with these kind of calls.  This one said "Centralia, WA.".  These calls have been coming from all over the country and are always some kind of spam telemarketing and/ or phishing scam or some scam to get people to give them access to their computers so they can infect them as they see fit.

The caller told me I qualified for a Federal grant of $7,000.00. They asked how I would like to receive my money by direct deposit to a bank account of my choice (how nice of them) on to a credit  card or cash. I said cash just to see what they would ask for next. They told me it would be sent to me via Western Union. Gave me a claim # CH589 asked me to call back immediately to different phone # 1. 239.719.1670. I did they then told to collect my grant I needed the claim # and a $210.00 deposit to secure the grant. When I told them no that the point of grant money was that you don't pay for it. They asked again for a deposit I said no thank you this is a BS scam.

i just got this scam. when i asked them why i needed to make a deposit to the federal grants department they said it was to secure my acccount info but i was sending it to them by western union. i told them that does not verify anything from my account since it was being done by western union and why does the federal government who is giving me a grant that does not have to be paid back and has no taxes need my $220.00. the girl on the phone then tried to say alot of nonesense to lose me in garble.

This number has began to call continuously. They tell me I've been chosen to receive 7k in grants that I don't have to repay..... LIARS. DONT TRUST!

I used to NEVER gets this type of call and now we get them ALL the time on both our home number and my cell phone.  We finally figured out that is all started around the time I applied for health insurance through the government.  Coincidence?

These Indian [***] have access to our life, SSN, and phone numbers.  Help stop them before our senior citizens and innocent get ripe off. 3698075355 is the number.

Calling for money.

Got called today ( Recording) saying the IRS was suing me. That's all the crap I took then hung up. The IRS doesn't call you EVER. Funny Stuff the scams out there. BLOCK IT!

I got the exact same recorded message (IRS is suing me). They left this same number for me to call back. Definitely a scam!!!

I received a call and was told it was the IRS.   Told me I had a lawsuit against me being filed by IRS.   Thet gave me a case number and then asked me to repeat it.    I told them I got it and did not repeat it.  Why would they want me to repeat it.   When I told them I was an attorney they immediately hung up.  Ha ha ha

Just received the call but did not pickup but they left a message to call back...  Thanks for your notes on this caller.  That helped!

They said there was a lawsuit against me, and to call them back. I have no lawsuits against me. Blocked the number.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

The message left for me was, "The IRS has begun a lawsuit against you.  Call this number for details."  Last I heard, Hell hadn't frozen over so I haven't called.
