My wife received a recorded call on her cell phone saying the IRS was filing a case against her and to call back.  I called back on the home phone & a recorded message asked for a name, then to leave a message--I left 'em one all right!!

All you did was confirm that your number is a good working number.  You can expect more calls from spammers, and scammers.

Update:  I accidentally misdialed--A thick foreign accent answers this number, and is not very understandable, but it sounds like "IRS".  When he asked for a phone number, I gave him a fake one & he replied,"Do you want my name?  ABCDEFGH....."  This is the 3rd scam cal in a week--2 on different cell phones!

Stated IRS filing lawsuit

claimed to be from IRS saying there was a lawsuit against me. The IRS doesn't call you. They mail you. Filed a complaint with Federal Trade Commission.

"David Parker (badge # 25041)" claimed to be an IRS agent & needed my lawyers info for a pending suit against me. Also filed a complaint with the FTC

Caller claimed I owed thousands of dollars to be paid immediately or they'd take drivers license  and seize bank accounts.  Had east indian accent and when asked for someone we could understand more easily they couldn't put someone on.  Then when accuse of being a scam they admitted it.

Got that same call yesterday.  Guy said his name was David Parker, but he had an Indian accent.  Gave me a case # and his IRS # and said I had a w2 problem from 2010 and I owed $4,892.  I started asking questions and he became irritable with me.  Saying I make a payment now or have the lawsuit initiated.   I began to ask another question when he hung up.
