- Stillwater| 4 replies"Steve Martin" ( with a thick east indian accent ) called from the IRS saying that this was their second attempt to contact us about a debt. threatening arrest and prosecution by a magistrate and the courts. That we could help ourselves out by calling them back to resolve this. Obviously "Steve" has lost his comedic touch! I've had 3 calls from Steve so far this morning.
Beware people! - TonyPress| 2 repliesI got multiple IRS calling today (from Alex Baldwin this time with a similar thick east indian accent) and asked to call this 360-967-4389 to discuss my outstanding debt. to the IRS from year 2013 tax returns audit (I didn't know my 2013 tax return was audited or I owe uncle SAM anything. I know this because I just got my 2014 tax refund 3 days ago). Same thought as Stillwater by calling them back and playing around with this scammer a bit. First, I asked him where his office is located so I declared to him that I want to record our conversation for later reviewing (his accent is a bit challenge to clearly understand). Well, as expected, he declined to declare his location and requested the not to be recorded. Then he was rambling about my 2013 tax return got audit and found many discrepancies in the calculations which is resulted in $5,425 that I had to pay back to the IRS in full today or I will be arrest by the local sheriffs that are on standby and awaiting for his instruction (Wow, scary dude). He warned that he can not help me once I get arrested. The debt must be settle the in court afterward and it could cost me at least $20k or more. So I told him I will settle the debt out of court but I want him provide some info about me (such as my SS, # of filed dependencies, my AGI, refunded amount, etc...) since he said he got my audited tax return in front of him. Obviously, the dude can not do so because he is a scammer. He gave an excuse that he can not provide my personal (MY PERSONAL!!) info over phone to me because he is afraid someone may record my info over the phone (I guess he heard about the NSA. r u kidding me???). Next, I ask to speak to his supervisor so he said to put me on hold. However, he forgot to press hold button and I can hear toilet flushing as well as baby crying in the background. When he backed on phone, I asked him if he just came out of bathroom and his child is crying. His response was "[***]" and hang up
Beware y'all - Ticked off| 3 repliesThis jerk used a robot voice to threaten IRS legal action. What a joke, this person is real piece of Sh$&. The phone company needs to contact the federal authorities and have this ass wipe put in prison.
- Caller: Supposed IRS
- HCESame type of thing: computer generated voice saying this is the final notice that the Internal Revenue Service is filing a lawsuit against me and to call 360 967 4389. I reckon it is a phishing call looking for identity information, but from TonyPress's post it sounds like it could be entertaining! Don't think I'll bother though….
- MadelineSame thing happened to me. I received a robot voice mail. I called the 360 # but no one answered
- EYEJust got the same call claiming to be the IRS and thanks to this sight I don't need to worry if it's real or not. Thanks for the post.

- Dee| 1 replyScary call! When I called this person back with a heavy east indian accent he told me I had to listen to everything he had to say before I could ask any questions. However, I kept telling him I was having a hard time understanding him. He said I had 3 serious lawsuit claims. When I asked him what it was for he told me from my 2008-2013 taxes. When I asked him for his ID# he said DL0020452 and when I asked him to repeat it he said DL0020402. Then he said something else I did not undersatnd and then hung up.

- Roxy replies to StillwaterWOW! I just got a phone call from this guy on this number, "Steve" with a thick accent telling me OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE SKY that I have been defrauding the IRS, intentionally for over 6 years! And if I didn't pay over $4000, RIGHT NOW, I would be arrested, my accounts frozen, my car taken away! Yes, I was FREAKING OUT!! I told him I would call him back (so I could do some research) but he kept saying that I would be arrested in 30 minutes, so I finally hung up...what a DICK. A total scam!! But scary as hell!!!! I wish he would call back so I can have the pleasure of telling him that I reported him to the IRS.

- Steven PalmerCall from computer voice threatened IRS suit to be filed. Foreign accent on call back number 360-967-4389 had a long oratory of what was going to happen and offered settlement "outside" the courtroom. He would not let me speak to his supervisor and actually said he was the supervisor. Yeah right

- Ken| 1 replyyep - I got the call as well. Luckily I am getting very used to these scams. Not to mention I have an payroll service and an accountant -- just was no way it was real. Wondering why all the regulations in place to stop this crap seem to go nowhere still. Come on all you well paid politicians - try doing something for a change.
- Caller: IRS supposedly
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mike-in-MD replies to KenAnd just how can our regulatory agencies enforce our laws against foreign criminals when their country will not cooperate? There are numerous overseas call centers dedicated to trying to scam US and Canadian citizens that are successful just enough times to make these scam centers profitable. Unless we can convince the governments where these call centers are located to make a serious effort to shut them down, there is little our government can do.
